Ba Den Mountain Cable Car in Tay Ninh: Welcoming more than 5 million visitors in 2024

After 5 years of operation, the Ba Den Mountain cable car system in Tay Ninh has welcomed nearly 6 million visitors to the highest mountain in the South each year. To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the cable car opening, the Ba Den Mountain tourist area will organize many experiences and attractive gifts for visitors on January 18, 2025.

Unprecedented attractive gifts

On January 18, 2020,Sun Group Corporation officially put into operation a new cable car system at Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, consulted and designed by the world's No. 1 cable car company Doppelmayr.

The opening of the modern cable car system has not only helped realize the dream of conquering the highest mountain in the South at an altitude of 986m, but also turned Ba Den Mountain into a leading spiritual destination in the country.

After 5 years of operation, the Ba Den Mountain cable car has attracted more and more tourists to the roof of the South, making pilgrimages to the Ba Den Mountain pagoda system and worshiping the spiritual and cultural works at the Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area.

To mark the 5th anniversary of the cable car's operation, Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area will organize many attractive cultural and artistic activities on January 18, 2025. In particular, to express gratitude to customers on the first days of 2025, Ba Den Mountain tourist area will organize a lucky draw program with extremely valuable gifts.

Accordingly, the lucky draw program will be held on the top of Ba Den Mountain on the morning of January 18, 2025, with 5 different prize categories, each category for 5 lucky guests. In which, the highest prize is 5 SJC gold bars for the 5 luckiest guests.

In addition, there are extremely attractive prizes including: 5 24k gold-plated Bodhi leaves worth 1,500,000 VND; 5 gold-plated Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statues worth 500,000 VND; 5 Maitreya statues worth 500,000 VND; and 5 feng shui bracelets worth 385,000 VND.

Top spiritual tourist destination in the South

The cable car is the first item in the Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist complex - the leading spiritual tourist destination in the Southern region today. After 5 years of operation, the tourist area now includes 3 cable lines. The Van Son cable line takes visitors from the foot of the mountain to the top of Ba Den, helping to shorten the travel time to the top of Ba Den mountain from 4 hours along the dangerous mountain road to 8 minutes.

The second cable line is Chua Hang cable line connecting from the foot of the mountain to the Ba Pagoda system with a travel time of only 5 minutes, and the third cable line Tam An has the steepest slope in the world connecting directly from the Ba Pagoda system to the top of the mountain in just 5 minutes.

Attached to the 3 cable lines are unique stations, of which the station located at the foot of the mountain holds the record for the world's largest cable car station awarded by Guinness World Record.

Along with 3 modern cable car routes, Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area also invested in spiritual and cultural works of unprecedented scale in the Southern region, making Ba Den Mountain the most attractive spiritual tourist destination in the country.

Located at the highest point on the mountain top is the bronze statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, the tallest in Asia, a symbol of universal compassion. The top of Ba Den mountain is also home to the world's largest statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva, made of 6,688 sandstone blocks inspired by terraced fields.

The Maitreya statue is considered a symbol of joy and happiness, making the highest mountain in the South a destination for tourists to seek peace and happiness.

Also on the top of Ba Den Mountain, a large-scale Buddhist exhibition space applies the world's leading modern technologies such as: 3D mapping technology about the movement of the universe through the Buddhist prism, 3D Hologram technology about models of ancient Vietnamese pagodas... The exhibition space is also a place for visitors to admire simulated versions of classic Buddhist artworks in the world.

Not only does it have majestic spiritual structures, Ba Den Mountain is also the destination for many unique cultural experiences such as the water music show applying Vietnam's leading technologies in the area of the Maitreya Bodhisattva statue; the art lantern exhibition space with 1,200 hand-painted lanterns inspired by folklore; or art shows recreating cultural heritages such as Chhay Dam drum dance, pentatonic music, Khmer dance... on holidays and weekends.

According to Prof. Dr. Dang Van Bai - Former Director of the Department of Heritage: "Ba Den Mountain was built and nurtured by cultural heritage values, it has exceeded the framework of a national tourist area, moving towards an international tourist area".

According to researcher Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang - Director of the Institute of Intangible Spiritual Culture Science, the spiritual cultural works on the top of Ba Den Mountain are the pride of the people of Tay Ninh and the Vietnamese people in general. Ms. Hang believes that: "Tay Ninh will be the first place in Vietnam to bring to the world knowledge and attractions about spiritual tourism in Vietnam in a systematic, in-depth and professional manner".

With the advent of a modern cable car system and magnificent cultural and spiritual works, Ba Den Mountain tourist area has contributed to attracting a large number of visitors to Tay Ninh every year. According to statistics, in 2019, before the cable car to Ba Den Mountain was installed, Tay Ninh welcomed nearly 3 million visitors.

After 5 years of operating the cable car system with Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area, in 2024, Tay Ninh welcomed 5.6 million visitors, of which more than 90% took the cable car to Ba Den Mountain, making this place a new growth pole of Southern tourism.
