CapCut surpasses ChatGPT

According to Unique Capital statistics, CapCut recorded 38.42 million downloads in July, Doubao chatbot reached 27.45 million downloads, while ChatGPT only reached 19.81 million.

Two ByteDance software have led the global downloads of artificial intelligence applications, a sign that the TikTok owner's push for generative AI is starting to pay off.

CapCut, a video editing software with GenAI features popular with TikTok, Douyin and Instagram, had 323 million monthly active users last month. Doubao, which launched in August 2023, recorded 30.42 million monthly active users, while ChatGPT recorded 172 million monthly active users during the same period.
