The first Carnaval at sea in Vietnam will take place on April 28.

The Ha Long Carnival 2024 is expected to start at 8:10 p.m. on April 28 at Ocean Park beach (Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long) and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel.

With the theme “Lighting up the Wonder”, the program script was built and inspired by 6 core values in the value system of Quang Ninh province. In particular, focusing on the value of beautiful nature, unique culture, developed economy , emphasizing the marine economy and especially the value of happy people. The program aims to honor the value of the land, build a masquerade ball with its own mark, unique color, strong local character, taking the people as the core; at the same time, send to the people of the whole country and international friends a message about the wonder, heritage, and people of Ha Long - Quang Ninh land.

The program structure is divided into 5 acts: Act 1 is "Ha Long Legend", Act 2 is "Fishing Village", Act 3 is "Commercial Port", Act 4 is "Ha Long Carnaval Heritage Dance", Act 5 is "Lighting up with Wonders".

The program will feature thousands of professional and non-professional actors and famous singers and artists such as: Tung Duong, Dong Hung, To Minh Thang, Ngoc Anh, the Time Stream group; DJ Xeko-T and MC KNight.

In particular, the program will have new and attractive features such as: Building the first live art performance and Carnaval on the sea in Vietnam; gathering the leading creative team, artists and artisans in Vietnam; the participation of international delegations from Hokkaido (Japan), Guangxi (China), Laos, Thailand and European dance groups.

Ha Long Carnival uses Drone light technology combined with modern 3D mapping technology to depict the typical symbols of Ha Long - Quang Ninh.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, said: Carnaval Ha Long 2024 is a Carnaval program with a new form, performing, parading on the sea, on the sandbank of Ha Long Bay with musical art elements, harmoniously combining history and culture to highlight the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay at night, affirming the exceptional value of Ha Long Bay. The program will also have a performance stage combining onshore and at sea with hundreds of ships and boats mobilized to participate in the parade in the program; applying the most modern and advanced technology today such as: Drone light (unmanned aerial vehicles in formation), fireworks, mapping...

Also during the April 30-May 1 holiday, Ha Long City will organize 11 cultural, artistic, sports and tourism activities. In particular, the Beer and Squid Cake Festival will be held for 5 days from April 27 to May 1 at the Ocean Park Old Quarter, adjacent to Ha Long Street (Bai Chay Ward), in which the record of "Vietnam's largest squid cake" will be set, expected to last from 2-5pm.

Some other notable activities include: Opening of the walking and culinary street of Bai Chay ward on April 20 at the Old Quarter of Ocean Park; Lion, lion and dragon festival from April 27 to May 1 at the Old Quarter of Ocean Park; Tran Quoc Nghien Temple festival from April 30 to May 1 at Tran Quoc Nghien Temple and Hong Gai and Bach Dang wards...

Up to now, the People's Committee of Ha Long City has issued a plan, developed and approved the script content and urgently prepared facilities, organized rehearsals, ensuring the schedule for events and activities in the area on the occasion of April 30 - May 1, 2024, especially the Ha Long Carnival 2024 Program. The work of ensuring security and order, environmental sanitation, food safety and hygiene, disease prevention, urban beautification, and management of the tourism business environment is being actively implemented by the city and departments, branches and sectors.

With careful preparation in both content and organization, the series of cultural, sports and tourism activities during the April 30 - May 1, 2024 holiday in Ha Long City promises to create a special attraction for people and tourists, starting the "explosive" 2024 summer tourist season in Ha Long City.
