Ronald Lam, CEO of Cathay Group, said: “The addition of A350F cargo aircraft strengthens the group’s fleet, enhances connectivity at our core operations hub, and provides more options for our customers. This strategic and forward-looking investment reflects our strong belief in long-term growth prospects and supports Cathay Cargo’s goal of becoming the world’s best cargo airline.”

Designed to be the world's most advanced cargo aircraft, the A350F meets the growing demands of the global air cargo market. With a range of up to 8,700 km and a payload capacity of 111 tons, the A350F will help operators deploy long-haul international routes. Constructed from over 70% advanced materials, the A350F is 46 tons lighter than its competitors.
Equipped with the latest Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the A350F will help reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 20% compared to previous-generation aircraft with similar payload and range. The A350F is the only new cargo aircraft to fully meet the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) CO₂ emissions standards for 2027. The A350F can operate with a maximum of 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at launch, with the goal of using 100% SAF by 2030, the same as all Airbus aircraft.
As one of the world's most modern wide-body aircraft, the A350F shares a high degree of similarity with the A350 passenger aircraft, offering added benefits to airlines currently operating these wide-body models.
As of the end of April 2026, the A350F transport aircraft had received 101 orders from 14 customers worldwide.
