Ministry of Defense Transport Air Force parades after 40 years

For the first time in 40 years, Vietnam Air Force transport aircraft performed a demonstration flight over the capital Hanoi, in celebration of the 80th National Day on September 2, 2025.

Nearly 40 years ago, in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 1985), the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Ministry of National Defense mobilized a large force of military aircraft to participate in the celebratory flight.

Among them, there was a formation of 12 An-26 military transport aircraft, led by Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hien, Commander of the 918th Transport Air Regiment (now a brigade), taking off from Gia Lam airport, flying over Ba Dinh Square, at the scheduled time.

Nearly 40 years later, these days, at Gia Lam military airport, transport aircraft of Air Brigade 918 (Air Defense - Air Force) are actively practicing in the sky of Hanoi, ready for the mission of flying to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.

According to the plan, the air transport formation of 4 Casa C-295, Casa C-212i and Casa C-212-400 aircraft flew in a straight line, at the same speed, and maintained a standard distance when flying over the stage at Ba Dinh Square.
