Recently, on some social networking platforms, a video clip was shared recording a large family in Ho Chi Minh City traveling to Suoi Tien carrying a large amount of food, attracting attention from the online community.
Images from the video show that family members cook together at home and then put the food in plastic containers and carefully pack them. In addition to white rice and salty food, the family prepares filtered water, refreshing drinks and fruit to have a complete meal.
A family in Ho Chi Minh City went on a trip and brought 2kg of braised ribs, 2kg of stir-fried beef and white rice (Video source: Character provided).
The video received over a million views and a large number of interactions with many mixed opinions. Among them, there were shares that if you travel, you should have a comfortable mindset and not need to carry too much food to avoid fatigue.
However, many people believe that, with a large family with many members, to ensure food safety and connect everyone, preparing food in advance is completely reasonable, both delicious and economical.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Ly Thi Ngoc Tran (23 years old, in Ho Chi Minh City) confirmed that she was the one who filmed and posted the video. This was a moment recorded during the family's trip to Suoi Tien in mid-July.

Wanting to share the video on her personal page to keep as a souvenir, Ms. Tran was surprised that her family's story attracted attention from the online community.
Ms. Tran said that this was a family trip with a total of 15 people. The trip started at 10am and ended around 4pm. The family planned to have lunch at Suoi Tien, so they prepared food to bring along.

The trip included both the elderly and children, so Tran’s mother and aunts wanted to take on all the cooking. From early morning, the kitchen was bustling with planned dishes including fried chicken wings with fish sauce, stir-fried duck with lemongrass, stir-fried beef, and braised ribs. Each dish weighed about 2kg and was divided into plastic boxes.
Each person had a job to do, so they put food in a bag and carried it along. When they arrived at Suoi Tien, the whole family visited, shopped at the fruit festival and bathed in the stream. At lunch, they found a spacious area, spread out a tarp and set out the food, and enjoyed it together in a happy, warm atmosphere.

Tran said that when a video goes viral and receives mixed opinions, it is inevitable. However, she believes that preparing food from home to take away depends on each family's economic situation. As long as the members feel comfortable and connected.
"My family's conditions are normal, so it's reasonable for everyone to prepare their own food to take away, and it suits everyone's taste.
Some people think that traveling with a lot of luggage is tiring, but my family considers it a joy. I also really appreciate the moments when the whole family can gather together like that," shared a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City.
In fact, the issue of bringing food when traveling has become a topic of interest and debate on many social networking forums.
Previously in July, a large family in Hanoi shared their experience of bringing a lot of fresh seafood from Hanoi to Sam Son for tourism, quickly attracting attention and a lot of controversy.
The guest said that the family of 23 members of all ages wanted to prepare food in advance to cook for themselves, instead of having to eat out. The seafood included 15kg of crab bought from Quang Ninh, fresh oysters, shrimp, snails, etc.
Along with that are 100 chicken eggs, duck eggs, pre-processed green vegetables, rice rolls, spices... all carefully preserved in styrofoam boxes.
After the article was published, many Dan Tri readers gave their own opinions on this issue.
Some people believe that preparing food in advance when traveling is a reasonable choice because it saves money, ensures hygiene, suits the taste and avoids being "ripped off". In particular, cooking and eating together not only helps connect members but also creates a cozy, close atmosphere.
However, besides the supportive opinions, many people oppose bringing too much food when traveling, arguing that this takes away the value of rest and relaxation of the trip.
Some moderate opinions say that whether or not to bring food is a personal choice, as long as it suits the circumstances and needs of each family.
