Special exhibition "Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh: From the Autumn of Independence to the Era of Rising"

VHO - On the morning of August 16, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Truong Vinh ward), Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace solemnly held the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition "Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh: From the Autumn of Independence to the Era of Rising".

This is a political and cultural activity of special significance, towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates and people together reviewed the sacred moment of the nation.

On September 2, 1945, at historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

That event opened a new era in the history of the nation - the era of independence, freedom and happiness, and at the same time affirmed that Vietnam had entered the ranks of independent nations in the world .

In her opening speech, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, Director of Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: “From the historic Autumn of 1945 until now, it has been 80 years since our people have steadfastly overcome countless difficulties and challenges, achieving many great victories.

Under the Party's flag and the light of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, Vietnam has grown strongly, affirming its position and prestige in the international arena.

The exhibition introduces nearly 200 valuable documentary photos, recreating important historical milestones: from the success of the August Revolution, the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the long-term resistance wars to protect national independence, to the cause of innovation, integration and development of the country in the modern era.

Not only stopping at the glorious historical pages, the exhibition also highlights the great and comprehensive achievements in the economic, political, cultural and social fields over the past 80 years.

In particular, the exhibition on the aspiration for strength and prosperity in the new era shows the determination of the entire Party and people in building a developed and sustainable Vietnam.

According to the Organizing Committee, choosing Ho Chi Minh Square, where his statue is located in Vinh city, to hold the event is meaningful.

This is an opportunity for the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An to express their respect and gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, an outstanding son of Nghe An and beloved leader of the Vietnamese people.

The exhibition also aims to contribute to educating revolutionary traditions, fostering ideals and patriotism for the young generation.

For the majority of people, especially young people, each image and document displayed not only reminds them of the glorious history but also adds to their belief and aspiration to build a prosperous country.

In the exhibition space, the flow of history is recreated like a vivid chronicle, from the seething atmosphere of the August Revolution, the Declaration of Independence echoing throughout the country, the fierce war years, to the image of a country in renewal and increasingly deep integration.

Each photo, each page of documents is like a reminder, a source of inspiration for every Vietnamese person today to appreciate the achievements of the revolution, be proud of national traditions, and at the same time strive to contribute to the development of the homeland and country.

The thematic exhibition “Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh: From the Autumn of Independence to the Era of Rising” will be open to the public from August 16 to September 18, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City.
