The program is jointly organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025). In a solemn, emotional and proud atmosphere, thousands of people gathered at Ly Thai To Flower Garden ( Hanoi Capital) to perform the flag-raising ceremony and sing the national anthem, at the same time as the national flag-raising ceremony took place at the historic Ba Dinh Square. Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and co-head of the Steering Committee, delivered a speech launching the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" walking program. Ready at the starting line. This is the first time a walking event has taken place simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities across the country. Delegates and people participated in a walk to respond to the program at Ly Thai To Flower Garden - Hoan Kiem Walking Street. With the message "1 billion steps into the new era", the program "Moving forward with Vietnam" is expected to mobilize the collective strength of millions of people across the country to join in walking, marking 1 billion steps for the health, solidarity and aspiration of a nation that is strongly transforming in the new era. Free drinking water stalls are arranged along the Hoan Kiem Lake road to serve participants. Young people enthusiastically participated in the program "Moving Forward with Vietnam" with the desire to spread the message of improving public health. Locals and foreign tourists enjoy participating in walking activities. Not only showing patriotism and spreading a healthy lifestyle, each step accumulated in the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" walking program will become a "green step", contributing to reducing carbon emissions, raising awareness of environmental protection and moving towards the national goal of net-zero emissions that Vietnam committed to at the COP26 Conference. The 'athletes' crossed the finish line after completing a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake.
