Before coming to the Vietnam Film Festival, "Brilliant Horizon" had an impressive premiere at the 15th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival in September 2025 in Hanoi , receiving support and positive feedback from both experts and cinema-loving audiences.

Returning in the spring of 2023, the Live concert “Brilliant Horizon” in Ninh Binh became a cultural phenomenon when singer Ha Anh Tuan brought the art of Xam singing - a heritage that is gradually fading - back to the big stage in front of more than 20,000 audiences at the stage in the heart of the ancient capital Hoa Lu, while connecting Vietnamese music with the Zen-philosophical spirit of the legendary Kitaro, and making a meaningful contribution to the humanitarian program “As if there had never been a separation”.

From those inspiring origins, director Lan Nguyen came up with the idea of making a documentary of the same name to preserve music, listen to stories about origins and return.

What makes “Brilliant Horizon” stand out is the will to make an independent film that director Lan Nguyen pursues. Originating from a project that recorded the artistic mark of Ha Anh Tuan, the film has escaped the framework of a portrait and become an independent story about the journey to find one’s roots. That journey is conveyed through the story of a French woman returning to Vietnam to find her identity from the program “As if there had never been a separation” combined with the narration and singing of Ha Anh Tuan.

The production crew spent more than 2 years traveling through Ninh Binh 's landmarks to find material for the film.

The crew spent more than two years traveling in Ninh Binh, through famous landmarks such as Van Long, Ma Yen, Tam Coc, Thai Vi Temple, Bai Dinh Ancient Temple, etc. to make the film. The director not only captured the landscape, but also reflected on the silent movements inside each person.

After “Color of Withered Grass” (2020) and “Healed Wounds” (2023), the music documentary “Brilliant Horizon” marks the third documentary work, and at the same time clearly reveals director Lan Nguyen's maturity in organizing emotions and cinematic language.

The film is meticulously crafted to every detail, promising to take the audience into a profound story about patriotism, homeland and Vietnamese identity told through music. In particular, the appearance of stories from the program “As if there had never been a separation” brings a layer of genuine emotions, making the film a documentary work that converges depth, humanity and weight.

The documentary “Brilliant Horizon” will be officially released at Galaxy Cinema, BHD and Lotte systems nationwide from December 12 to December 21, 2025.

For singer Ha Anh Tuan, the film is not only a record of a live concert, but also an invitation for the public to reflect on culture, people and origins. The choice to bring an independent documentary to theaters demonstrates the desire to expand the dialogue about Vietnamese identity to many audiences. In addition to the audience who love Ha Anh Tuan's music, the production team hopes to reach a young audience who are interested in cultural products with depth.

The male singer also said that, along with releasing the movie “Brilliant Horizon” to theaters, this December, he plans to launch the music night “The Rose”, creating a continuous, close dialogue between him and music lovers.
