Dao Van Minh (2011), is currently an 8th grade student at Quang Chau Secondary School, Nenh Ward, Bac Ninh Province (formerly Bac Giang Province). Minh's father passed away in 2012 due to an accident, when he was just over 1 year old, so he has almost no memories of his father. Currently, Minh lives with his mother, Nguyen Thi Chac (1984) and his older sister, Dao Thi Mai Anh (2007).

Since her husband passed away, Nguyen Thi Chac has had an even harder time raising her two children alone. Previously, she worked as a seamstress to make ends meet and to provide for her children’s education. However, in 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, along with uterine and heart diseases, which caused her health to deteriorate and she often fainted. Currently, Ms. Chac can only stay at home, raise a few chickens, and grow some vegetables around the garden to sell to earn some money to cover her daily expenses.

Dao Van Minh took advantage of his summer vacation to do all kinds of jobs, from washing dishes to hoeing the ground, cleaning the garden... to share the burden of making a living with his sick mother.

Currently, Minh receives 500,000 VND per month as an orphan, and the school also provides 15 kg of rice to help his family overcome difficulties. Minh is a good boy, understanding and always achieves good academic results. Every summer vacation, he takes the opportunity to serve, clean the shop, wash dishes or hoe the garden, hoping to share the burden with his mother. Minh always cherishes the dream of studying well, becoming a doctor to be able to treat his mother and help those around him.

As for her sister Dao Thi Mai Anh, she is currently a first-year student majoring in Economics at the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The first semester tuition fee is more than 23 million VND, so Ms. Chac had to borrow money everywhere to take care of her child. At times, Ms. Chac even thought about selling blood to have money for her child to continue going to school.

Feeling sorry for her mother's hardship, Mai Anh often blamed herself for choosing to go to university when her family was in dire straits. However, she understood that only education could help change her future, so she always made constant efforts. To ease the burden, Mai Anh took advantage of her summer vacation to work at an electronics company, saving more than 10 million VND to bring to school. When she went to Hanoi , she continued to work part-time to cover her monthly living expenses.

Carrying many illnesses, Ms. Chac often cried because she was afraid she could not continue to be the support for her children.

Loving his mother and sister, and being the only son in the family, Van Minh always told himself that he had to take care of the family after his father passed away. Although he was a very good student and often received certificates of merit for his excellent achievements, Minh still expressed his desire to go to work soon to support his mother and support his sister in completing her university studies.

Every time they miss their father, Van Minh and his sister can only look at his portrait and remember the moments when he loved and taught them like many other friends of the same age. For Minh, there are almost no memories of their father, just vague fragments through their mother's stories. Now, the two sisters' biggest worry is that their mother's health is getting worse.

MC Thanh Thao could not hide her emotion when witnessing Minh's understanding. She shared that at the age of 14, Minh was still just a boy but was already aware of the responsibility of the family, wanting to become a support for his seriously ill mother and his older sister who was studying at university. Thanh Thao was most choked up when hearing Minh say he was willing to put aside his dream of becoming a doctor to go to work and earn money to help his older sister continue her education.

MC Thanh Thao expressed her admiration for Ms. Chac's diligence and extraordinary willpower. Despite having suffered from many serious illnesses for many years, she still tried to work hard to take care of her children, never thinking of letting them drop out of school. Ms. Chac shared that her greatest wish was for her two children to be able to study properly, have stable jobs to take care of themselves, and not have to work hard like their mother.

Actress Luong Thu Trang could not hide her sadness when witnessing the image of Ms. Chac, thin and sick but still devoted to her children. She admired the studious spirit and sacrifice of both sisters Mai Anh and Van Minh when they always put their family first. The actress was moved and wondered: "If I were in a similar situation, would I be strong and resilient like them? "

Singer Do Hoang Hiep could not hide his emotion when witnessing the difficult situation of Van Minh's family. The male singer gave many words of encouragement to the two sisters to continue to try to study, and at the same time hoped that Ms. Chac would take care of her health to always be a strong spiritual support for her children. He shared that the two sisters Mai Anh and Van Minh should not feel like they are a burden while still studying, because the fact that they continue to study and study well is the greatest pride and happiness of their mother. Do Hoang Hiep hopes that the two sisters will always try their best, not only to bring happy moments to their mother but also to contribute positively to improving her spirit and health.

Feeling sorry for the family of Van Minh, especially knowing that the house they were living in was dilapidated and had no toilet, the sponsor Hoa Sen Group decided to support the construction of a new toilet, helping the family have more convenient and safe living conditions.

In addition, MC Thanh Thao decided to support Minh with 1 million VND per month to help with living expenses, and promised to accompany him until he finishes grade 12. This is also the 5th child in the Vietnamese Family Shelter program to receive long-term support from the female MC. This kind and responsible action has received much praise and admiration from the audience and the community.

Another case in the program is Lanh Duy Quang (2011), a Tay ethnic, currently studying in grade 7 at Binh Trung Commune Primary and Secondary School. Quang currently lives with his grandmother and younger brother in Khanh Khe Commune, Lang Son Province. His parents have been divorced for a long time, and his mother no longer lives with her children.

Orphaned and lacking motherly love, the two brothers Duy Quang and The Anh could only rely on their grandmother's arms.
Orphaned and lacking motherly love, the two brothers Duy Quang and The Anh could only rely on their grandmother's arms.

To raise his children, Duy Quang's father had to do many jobs: farming, weeding, gardening, bricklaying... However, in April 2025, tragedy struck when he suddenly passed away from a stroke during lunch at work.

Since the day their father passed away, grandmother Lanh Thi Xuoi (1965) became the sole support for the two brothers. Their father left behind 2 sao of land, which is currently cultivated by their uncle, each year yielding about 2 quintals of rice per sao, which is then divided among Quang and his brothers. However, because the uncle has his own family, he cannot take care of all the children. The burden falls on the thin shoulders of the elderly grandmother, who is in poor health.

Duy Quang's younger brother is Lanh The Anh, both brothers are studious and obedient. The Anh has achieved excellent academic results for many years. After their parents divorced, the siblings rarely had time to be with their mother. Although their mother often called them, they did not have many memories or warm love from their mother. Therefore, the sudden passing of their father was a great shock, causing Duy Quang and his brother great pain.

Every time he mentioned his father, Duy Quang would secretly hide under the blanket and cry alone for fear that his mother would know. To his two brothers, their father was a wonderful person, always loving, caring and teaching them the right things. When mentioning his father, Duy Quang choked up when remembering the image of his father working hard at many jobs so that his children would never go hungry.

Seeing their grandmother getting old and suffering from many illnesses, Duy Quang and The Anh always dreamed of becoming doctors. They wanted to cure their grandmother, help her live a healthier life, and at the same time use their knowledge and heart to help those with difficult and unfortunate lives like their family.

The situation of Lanh Duy Quang made MC Thanh Thao choke up, feeling sorry for the boy who had been without his mother for many years, and now had to bear the pain of losing his father, which was too great to be overcome. The fact that he often mentioned his father - who, although he had passed away, was always present in his heart because throughout all this time, his father was the only person who took care of, loved and worried about him from childhood to adulthood - moved the MC and many viewers.

In particular, the image of the orphan boy frequently calling his father's old phone number, even though he knew he could never meet him again, like an expectation that would never come true, made the witnesses even more heartbroken.

Actress Luong Thu Trang expressed her sympathy when she learned that Duy Quang's pain of losing his father was still too fresh. The two brothers had just suddenly lost their most beloved person, and on the day of the program's recording, it was only 49 days since their father passed away. The pain had not yet subsided, making it difficult for them to get used to and accept this reality of loss.

Along with that is the image of the hard-working grandmother Lanh Thi Xuoi, who no longer worries about her children but continues to shoulder the burden of her grandchildren, making anyone who witnesses it choke up. She is both a grandmother, a father, and a mother, devoting all her strength to raising two young grandchildren in extremely difficult circumstances.

Singer Do Hoang Hiep was also speechless for a long time before that extraordinary willpower. He expressed his deep admiration for the love, resilience and sacrifice of the special grandmother and mother in the program.

Watch the program Vietnamese Family Warmth broadcast at 20:20 every Friday on HTV7 channel. The program is produced by Bee Media Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television, with the support of Hoa Sen Home Construction Materials & Interior Supermarket System (Hoa Sen Group) and Hoa Sen Plastic Pipe - Source of Happiness.
