Veiga wants to return to Europe.

Veiga is currently on a salary of up to 230,000 euros per week, equivalent to about 12 million euros per year. He signed a 3-year contract with Al Ahli in the summer of 2023, earning a total of about 24 million euros over the past 2 years.

AS says Veiga is looking to return to Europe. Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Wolves have all expressed interest in the talent. However, Porto could be Veiga's next destination, with a transfer fee likely to be closer to €20 million.

If he moves to Porto, Veiga will have to accept a huge pay cut, down to around 1.2 million euros per year. Veiga's salary will be reduced by 10.7 million euros compared to his current contract. This shows the determination of the former Celta Vigo star to play top football in Europe.

Veiga's decision to move to Al Ahli in 2023 has been controversial, with former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos criticising Veiga's actions, claiming the midfielder moved to Saudi Arabia for money.

However, the 23-year-old midfielder defended his choice: "I didn't come to the Saudi Pro League just for the money. It was the best choice for comprehensive development, to learn under the guidance of a young coach, in a team full of stars and a developing tournament like the Saudi Pro League. I am proud of my decision."

Veiga has made 65 appearances for Al Ahli over the past two years, scoring 12 goals. He played a major role in helping the team win the AFC Champions League earlier this month.
