Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Facebook and CEO of Meta, said that Apple has become complacent in the 20 years since the invention of the iPhone. He said it is unclear whether Apple is selling more iPhones every year and that the problem is that each generation of iPhone does not bring many changes, so users have to wait longer between upgrades.
The Meta CEO also took issue with Apple's creation of peripherals that users buy for the iPhone, like AirPods, arguing that the headphones are manufactured in a way that prevents other companies from developing products that can connect to the iPhone in a similar way.

Zuckerberg has long been averse to Apple, especially since the App Tracking Transparency feature was added in iOS 14.5. The feature lets iPhone users decide whether they want to be tracked by third-party apps for targeted advertising. Facebook estimates that the iOS upgrade could cost the social network $10 billion in advertising revenue in its first year.
This has caused Facebook's stock to fall 61% in 2022. Although Meta's stock has increased 300% since then, Apple still makes Zuckerberg hateful.
Mark Zuckerberg has also been criticized recently for taking many actions that are said to please President-elect Donald Trump, such as removing fake news checks from Facebook, instead supporting community edits similar to Elon Musk's social network X.
