In particular, through monitoring at medical stations in Vinh Cuu district, the delegation found that the stations have developed plans to implement non-communicable disease prevention activities in 2025, including diseases: mental illness, diabetes, hypertension and cancer. The content of the plan closely follows the program of Vinh Cuu District Medical Center. All stations have statistics and reports on non-communicable diseases monthly and quarterly according to regulations. Drug management and distribution activities have reports, monitoring of drug import and export management and import inspection records...

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health , Vietnam is facing a rapid increase in non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Notably, these diseases are tending to be younger, seriously affecting public health and the country's socio-economic development.

Currently, the mortality rate due to non-communicable diseases accounts for 84% of all deaths in Vietnam. Cardiovascular diseases and cancer are the most common causes, with mortality rates of 31% and 19%, respectively. Of every 10 people who die from non-communicable diseases, 4 are under 70 years old.

The main causes leading to the above condition are primarily due to unscientific lifestyle, unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, stress and use of stimulants.

The monitoring team of the provincial Center for Disease Control has requested health stations to continue implementing measures to prevent non-communicable diseases. Strengthen propaganda work to raise public awareness, help people proactively implement disease prevention measures, and have a healthier lifestyle.

In addition, the delegation also requested that medical facilities continue to strengthen training for medical staff on early detection and management of non-communicable diseases; fully equip necessary medical equipment to diagnose and treat non-communicable diseases at the facility, at an early stage, to avoid the disease progressing to a more serious stage.
