World's largest superyacht on fire

The crew of the world's largest super cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, was mobilized to extinguish a fire that broke out on Tuesday as the giant ship, which can carry 10,000 people, was docked in a port in Mexico.

Fortunately, the fire was "quickly extinguished" after it broke out, a spokesperson for the ship's operator Royal Caribbean confirmed to CNN . The cruise line said there were no injuries and the overall impact on the ship was "minimal."

The record-breaking superyacht Icon of the Seas - 363m long and weighing 250,800 tonnes - was docked in Costa Maya, Mexico when the incident occurred. The ship briefly lost power but its backup power source was activated immediately.

A Royal Caribbean spokesperson confirmed crew members had brought the fire under control and explained that all staff are trained to handle such situations.
