Chery Tiggo 7 Sport 2026 "copycat" Range Rover, super cheap price

Chery Tiggo 7 Sport 2026 is a car model aimed at young customers with limited financial resources.

Chery has just officially launched two new compact SUV models, the Tiggo 7 Sport and Tiggo 7 Plus, in the Chinese market. These two models are aimed at customers with limited financial resources with many upgrades and competitive prices.

The new Chery Tiggo 7 Sport starts at 87,900 yuan (about 307 million VND) in the Chinese market. The corresponding figure for the Chery Tiggo 7 Plus is listed at 91,900 yuan (about 321 million VND). Chery positions the Tiggo 7 Sport as a dynamic choice, aimed at young people. Meanwhile, the Tiggo 7 Plus is more family-oriented.

To attract young people, Chery applied an exterior design similar to the Land Rover luxury SUV, more specifically the Range Rover Evoque, for the 2026 Tiggo 7 Sport. The car retains the brand's signature split headlight design, a mesh-like trapezoidal grille, black pillars that create a "floating" roof effect, and hidden door handles like an electric car.

The front lights, side and rear areas of this model have the same design as the Jaecoo J7 currently sold in Vietnam. This is not surprising because the Tiggo 7 Sport is actually a renamed version and sold under the Chery brand of the Jaecoo J7. In addition, this Chinese car model is also equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels. The car has exterior colors such as Glacier Silver, Cangyan Gray, Graphite Black and Pearl White.

Inside, the 2026 Chery Tiggo 7 Sport features a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. New features include a ventilated driver's seat, heated front seats, vanity lights, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, and automatic air conditioning.

The high-end version of the Tiggo 7 Sport is equipped with a series of more "fancy" equipment such as automatic headlights, panoramic sunroof with electric curtains, ventilated passenger seat, dash cam, 50W wireless charger, curtain airbags, trunk kick sensor, adaptive cruise control system at all speed ranges (ACC), automatic emergency braking (AEB) and forward collision warning (FCW).

In the Chinese market, the 2026 Tiggo 7 Sport has two engine options. The first is a new 1.5L turbocharged engine, producing a maximum capacity of 156 horsepower and a maximum torque of 230 Nm, combined with a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. The second is a more powerful 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine with a maximum capacity of 197 horsepower and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, accompanied by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 2026 Chery Tiggo 7 Plus has a different and less sporty appearance than the Tiggo 7 Sport. This can be clearly seen through the exterior areas such as the grille, front/rear bumpers and rims. The car still retains the diamond-pattern grille, hidden door handles and LED taillights across the trunk door as before.

Other highlights include a 24.6-inch dual-screen cluster, the LION 5.0 infotainment system, and a choice of black or brown interiors. The top-spec trim adds a power-adjustable/ventilated passenger seat, a power-operated tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, and curtain airbags.

The "heart" of the Tiggo 7 Plus continues to be a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine, accompanied by a 9-speed simulated CVT gearbox. Both of the above models are currently competitive in the small SUV segment in the Chinese market. In May 2025 alone, the Tiggo 7 line achieved sales of 3,880 vehicles, ranking 40th among small SUV models in the domestic market.
