(NADS) - On March 17, 2024, An Giang Photographic Artists Association 2 held a meeting to celebrate "71 years of Vietnam Photography Tradition Day". During the meeting, the artists reviewed the traditions of Vietnamese photography.
On March 15, 1953, at Co Hill Area in Diem Mac Commune, Dinh Hoa District, Thai Nguyen Province, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 147/SL establishing the "Vietnam National Cinema and Photography Enterprise", laying the foundation for the development of Vietnamese photography. On December 16, 2002, the Ministry of Interior issued Notice No. 1021/BNV-TCPCP, agreeing to take March 15 every year as the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Photography.
On this day, artists commemorate and pay tribute to the 155th anniversary of Dang Huy Tru bringing photography to Vietnam.
Also at the meeting, NSNA Nguyen Long reviewed the history of An Giang photography through the ages. Especially the development of Chau Doc photography from its establishment to the present, through many ups and downs, An Giang photography has affirmed its position in the region.
On this occasion, the Head of the An Giang 2 Photographic Artists Association announced the decision of the Vietnam Photographic Artists Association and awarded a membership card to the newly admitted photographer: Trinh Thi Giao, who is currently active at the association.
The Association has deployed documents of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists: Mid-term review report on the implementation of the Resolution of the 9th Congress (2020-2025), deployment of the work program and key tasks in 2024 and seminar documents "Development orientation of Vietnamese photographic art"
In this meeting, the Association also received many contributions from the artists, the shortcomings in the Association's activities in the past time. The artists together proposed practical solutions to bring the Association's activities to better results. Especially focusing on creating photos, creating many beautiful works with artistic value, reflecting the development of the homeland.
