A Denza Z9 GT owner recently revealed that the cost of replacing the second-generation Blade battery pack was 78,700 RMB, equivalent to approximately $11,600 USD, after the vehicle was involved in a collision that damaged the undercarriage.
The quoted price is for the 122.5 kWh LFP battery pack, which is fitted to the top-of-the-line all-electric versions of this model.
The premium Grand Tourer model from BYD's sub-brand is now available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric configurations, with prices ranging from 269,800 to 369,800 RMB, equivalent to $39,600- $54,300 USD .
The all-electric version has a maximum driving range of 1,036 km according to CLTC standards and is compatible with BYD's super-fast charging technology, allowing it to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes or to 97% in 9 minutes.

Information shared on the social media platform Weibo indicates that the price quoted was provided by an official Denza dealer and does not include the cost of consumables or labor. This figure is equivalent to approximately 642 RMB/kWh, meaning the battery pack only accounts for about 21% of the car's total converted value.
Shortly after the information was posted, a Denza N7 owner also joined the discussion and shared a similar experience.
Accordingly, the replacement bill for the older 91 kWh LFP battery pack on the mid-size SUV costs up to 84,290 RMB, equivalent to $12,389 , or 29% of the vehicle's value, despite having a lower capacity and not supporting super-fast charging technology like the new battery pack on the Z9 GT.
The price difference between the two generations of batteries demonstrates BYD's significant advancements in material manufacturing processes and cost control. The brand is also planning to enter the European market with the Z9 GT model and expects that the advantage in replacement parts pricing will help it increase its competitiveness against established rivals on the continent.
