Find N5 is a foldable smartphone that Oppo has just launched globally, nearly 1.5 years after the previous model, the N3. Compared to the previous generation, Find N5 has many improvements, of which thickness is the biggest difference. Oppo's new foldable smartphone is only 8.93 mm thick when folded, significantly thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 (12.1 mm). When held in hand, this phone feels almost like a slim phone, not much thicker or heavier than previous foldable phone models. |

The Find N5 is also just a little thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra or iPhone 16 Pro Max (right), two flagship models that are both 8.3 mm thick. The biggest difference when holding this phone in your hand is that the camera cluster is still large and thick compared to the rest. Although it has been cut down significantly compared to the Find N3, the camera cluster still makes the top of the phone feel a bit heavy and tilted when held. |

When opened, the Find N5's thickness on each side is just over 4mm, almost reaching the size limit of the USB-C port. The thin and wide device feels very light to hold, much different from the thick and square design on the Z Fold6. If held and used with one hand, right-handed users will feel more comfortable because they can rest their index finger on the camera cluster, and the power button and fingerprint sensor are also on the right side. In the picture, the thickness of the Find N5 when opened (left) is compared to the Oppo Find X8 Pro. |

The hinge is sturdy, allowing it to open and hold at an angle of more than 90 degrees. The hinge is also designed to reduce the protrusion of the edge between the two screens. This edge is only visible when the screen is off and viewed at an angle with light shining on it. If the screen is turned on and used normally, the edge is almost invisible. |

The device meets IPX8/IPX9 water resistance standards, meaning it can withstand water at high temperatures and high pressures. However, the Find N5 does not meet any dust resistance standards, which can affect its durability if dust gets into the hinge after a long period of use. |

Both screens use LTPO OLED technology, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The 6.6-inch outer screen has a 20.6:9 ratio, which is very close to a regular bar-shaped smartphone. Thanks to that, operating on this screen, especially when typing, is more comfortable compared to folding phones with narrow screen ratios. |

The Find N5's internal screen is larger than the previous generation, measuring 8.12 inches diagonally. With a nearly square ratio, the screen area is even larger than the iPad mini (8.3 inches, 3:2 ratio). If used for reading websites, books or tasks that require split screens, the larger size will have a clear advantage. The display quality on the Find N5 is also superior, especially when viewed at night. |

However, with the square aspect ratio, when opening movies or watching content on YouTube, the image on the Fold N5 is smaller than the iPad mini. This is also a factor to consider if users buy the device mainly to enjoy content. |

One of the factors that helps the device achieve impressive thinness is the 2 batteries using silicon-carbon batteries, allowing for higher energy density. Find N5 is also the foldable smartphone with the highest battery capacity, up to 5,600 mAh, which can be used comfortably for a day. The device also has integrated 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless. |

The biggest factor cut on the slim smartphone is the camera cluster. In the Find N5 model, the main and 3x cameras have a resolution of 50 MP, but the ultra-wide-angle camera only has a resolution of 8 MP. The camera cluster still responds well, providing high-detail photos and fast shooting speed in bright conditions, but shows a bit of weakness when having to shoot in low light. |

The two front cameras of the device also only have a resolution of 8 MP, lower than the 32 MP of the Find X8 Pro. The camera on the inner screen is made in a hole-punch form, which will give better image quality than the type under the screen like the Z Fold6, but in return, it loses a small part of the display in the corner. |

Find N5 uses Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm's most powerful mobile chip, but it's a 7-core version instead of 8-core like many other smartphones. With normal usage tasks, the device still shows strong, redundant performance. |

The most special feature that Oppo promotes on this phone model is connecting to a Mac computer and sharing files or controlling remotely. A quick experience shows that newly taken photos on the phone will appear immediately on the O+Connect connection software, quite convenient if users need to get photos. |

With the remote control feature, the Find N5 acts as an access device through an UltraViewer-style application. However, to use it, the software will require many permissions on MacOS, which may make users have to consider. |
