“This expansion of membership is a testament to the region’s recognition of integrated coastal management (ICM) and the power of cooperation between local governments.

PNLG continues to maintain the tradition of knowledge sharing and capacity building among its members, which makes PNLG a strong, dedicated and committed organization.

PNLG has a wealth of results, good practices and inspiring stories of integrated coastal zone management at the local level that other local governments, both within and beyond the East Asia Sea region, can learn from and benefit from.

We can further strengthen our partnership with PNLG and other partners to continue providing capacity development initiatives and programs to PNLG members on integrated coastal zone management and sustainable development aspects.

By sharing experiences, participating in forums like this and collaborating with PNLG members, we can move forward together for the future of the East Asia Sea region,” Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Le Quang Nam emphasized.

On the same day, at the Joint Learning Forum between the PNLG and PNLC networks with the theme "Local practices in marine ecosystem protection and restoration under the framework of integrated coastal zone management", the head of the PNLG network emphasized the importance of capacity building and future development of both networks.

At the same time, it is believed that this joint learning forum aims to promote information exchange and experience sharing on marine ecosystem protection and restoration through presenting typical cases and improving the level of integrated coastal zone management at the local level as well as promoting the sustainable development of coastal ecosystems in the East Asia Sea region.

The PNLG Chairman suggested that delegates take advantage of this common learning forum as a platform to exchange a lot of information and jointly promote capacity building as well as open new doors for cooperation and development for PNLG and PNLC members to jointly learn and implement cooperation projects, promote the protection, development and sustainable exploitation of marine resources in the East Asia Sea region, contributing to achieving the United Nations' sustainable development goals.
