The Department of Construction will focus on coordinating the implementation of six major work groups in 2024.

DNO - On January 17th, speaking at the conference summarizing the work of 2023 and implementing the tasks for 2024 of the Department of Construction, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam requested the department to focus on coordinating with other departments, agencies, units, and localities to implement six major groups of tasks.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam highly appreciated the efforts and endeavors of officials, civil servants, and workers in the city's construction sector in 2023, a year that can be considered a year of "plowing and sowing," and which achieved a number of important results contributing to the socio -economic development of the city.

The workload of the Department of Construction is enormous; in 2023 alone, there were over 30,000 incoming documents. The Department also responded to, addressed, and resolved over 12,000 outgoing documents.

Simultaneously, the Department of Construction has completed 1,658 tasks assigned by the City People's Committee. Notably, the Department of Construction has completed 16 out of 17 key tasks assigned by the City People's Committee, achieving a completion rate of 94.1%.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam also highly appreciated the Department of Construction for proposing and advising the City People's Committee to carry out a very humane task at the beginning of the 2024 implementation year: granting decisions to allocate apartment units to 44 poor households with particularly difficult circumstances and waiving or reducing rent so that these households could celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon in a warm and joyful atmosphere.

At the same time, the Department of Construction should focus on six key areas in 2024. Specifically, it should coordinate the completion of the appraisal of zoning plans so that the City People's Committee can finalize their approval in the third quarter of 2024.

The department is focusing on finalizing the ground elevation and drainage planning to create a legal basis for recalculating the entire existing drainage system as well as making new investments to address flooding in the city.

In addition, coordinate the implementation of the underground space planning project for approval by the City People's Committee in 2025.

The Department focuses on advising, proposing, and coordinating with localities to complete the relocation of households from severely dilapidated apartment buildings and collective housing. At the same time, it continues to advise on the implementation of social housing development.

A very important issue is that in 2024, the Department will continue to coordinate and advise on the management and development of urban green spaces, especially trees that can adapt to climate change and environmental conditions, and are suitable for the city.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam also requested the Department of Construction to effectively implement Directive No. 34-CT/TU dated October 27, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on continuing to promote administrative reform, strengthen discipline and order, and overcome the situation of avoidance, shirking, and failure to properly and fully perform the responsibilities, duties, and powers of a part of cadres, Party members, civil servants, and public employees in the current situation.

In 2024, the Department of Construction is determined to strive to contribute to the completion of the city's theme for the year, especially to achieve 5 key targets: completing 3 tasks according to the theme for the year; completing 9 tasks assigned to the Department of Construction by the City People's Committee on schedule and ensuring quality; completing the tasks of directing and managing socio-economic development in 2024; and successfully completing regular professional tasks.

The completion and updating rate of tasks assigned by the City People's Committee must reach a minimum of 95%; improving the administrative reform ranking compared to 2023.
