However, a new report from PhoneArena suggests that Samsung is planning to revive the Galaxy A7x series as a new Galaxy A phone has appeared on Geekbench. Data discovered by Abhishek Yadav indicates that the device with model number SM-A776B is most likely the Galaxy A77 - the next version of the Galaxy A7x series.

If the information is correct, the Galaxy A77 will become the first Galaxy A7x smartphone since the Galaxy A73 was launched nearly 4 years ago. The test device is equipped with an unannounced Exynos chip, with a 10-core CPU and Xclipse 940 GPU similar to the Exynos 2400 and 2400e chips. That shows that Samsung wants the Galaxy A77 to be a mid-range smartphone with powerful graphics processing capabilities.
Geekbench records the device running Android 16 with 8 GB RAM and aiming at the mid-range segment. However, the performance score is higher than the Galaxy A56 - the most powerful Galaxy A currently. Most likely, the Galaxy A77 will have a price and performance between the Galaxy A57 (upcoming) and Galaxy S25 FE.
The 'trump card' of the Galaxy A series
At the moment, Samsung has not confirmed the appearance of the Galaxy A77, but the product is said to be launched with the Galaxy A57 - which is expected to appear in the spring of 2026. At that time, the Galaxy A77 will compete directly with the iPhone 17e and Pixel 10A - smartphones in the same segment that are also expected to launch at the same time.
It is known that Samsung's decision to discontinue the Galaxy A7x series was to streamline its massive product portfolio. However, as high-end smartphones become more expensive, the high-end mid-range segment becomes more attractive, opening up an opportunity for Samsung to fill this gap with the Galaxy A77.
If launched, this could be the best performing mid-range Galaxy A that Samsung has ever produced, and promises to compete directly with rivals in the same segment.
