On the afternoon of July 31, in the capital New Dehli, within the framework of his State visit to India, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed his deep condolences to the State, Government and people of Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, an outstanding leader and great friend of the Indian people.
On behalf of the Government of India, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed his sincere thanks and warm welcome to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , one of the first foreign leaders to pay a State visit to India since the re-election of the third-term Government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully thanked senior Indian leaders for sending condolences and sending a delegation to Vietnam to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Prime Minister appreciated the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Minister S. Jaishankar personally for their efforts to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in India to carefully prepare for the visit in a very short time, and carefully arrange important meetings for the visit.
Through this visit, the head of the Vietnamese Government hopes that the relationship between the two countries will enter a new period of trust, deeper understanding, and greater efficiency, meeting the aspirations of the leaders and people of the two countries.
The Prime Minister also hopes to discuss with the Indian side the key areas of cooperation in the coming time, including high-level delegation exchanges, local exchanges, and people-to-people exchanges; strengthening economic, trade and investment cooperation, and soon raising bilateral trade turnover to 30 billion USD.
In addition, according to the Prime Minister, the two sides can consider expanding cooperation to new areas such as green transformation, digital transformation, innovation, semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, etc. The Prime Minister suggested that the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs focus on coordinating with relevant ministries and branches in reviewing and implementing high-level agreements.
The two sides also agreed to continue cooperation at regional and international forums and agreed to support ASEAN's stance on the East Sea.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his profound guidance and support for the bilateral relationship. He affirmed that he will strive to cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote Vietnam-India relations in the coming time.

On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation offered flowers at the bronze statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital New Delhi.
Respectfully paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in front of his statue at G20 Park, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation vowed to make efforts and continue to bring the Vietnam - India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership into deeper, more substantial and more effective dimensions.
The Prime Minister also pledged to make efforts to deepen the good traditional relationship between the two nations, which has gone through a long history of more than 2,000 years, and was built and nurtured by two great leaders, President Ho Chi Minh and Mahatma Gandhi.
The bronze statue of President Ho Chi Minh is located at G20 Park, located in the middle of the Diplomatic Corps area, the center of the capital New Delhi. Along with placing the bronze statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the "heart" of the capital, India is the first country to have a street named after Ho Chi Minh. This shows the special affection of the State and people of India for President Ho Chi Minh and the country, Vietnam.
