MediaTek recently unveiled the Dimensity 9400 chip, but recent reports indicate that an improved version is under development. The new chip, codenamed Dimensity 9400+, boasts incredibly powerful performance.

The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has revealed information about the Dimensity 9400+ chip: Oppo will launch three flagship models in the first half of next year with screen sizes of 6.3 inches, 6.6 inches, and 6.8 inches, and all three models will use the Dimensity 9400+ chip.

Unfortunately, DCS hasn't shared the specifications for MediaTek's next high-end SoC, but it's highly likely to be a slightly upgraded version of the Dimensity 9400. The company has already done the same with the Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 9300+.

Although the specifications of the new chip have not yet been revealed, it is likely to be an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9400 (similar to the Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 9300+).

Therefore, the new chip will likely ship with a higher clock speed, a faster APU, and possibly an improved GPU clock speed compared to the Dimensity 9400. These are just minor improvements in specifications, but they are seen as MediaTek's answer to Qualcomm's overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Reportedly, Qualcomm's latest high-end processor runs at a clock speed of 4.32 GHz, and with sufficient cooling, that frequency can reach 4.57 GHz, allowing it to reach new peaks in single-core performance.

Currently, the Cortex-X925 in the Dimensity 9400 can reach 3.63 GHz, so MediaTek can adjust the Dimensity 9400+ to achieve clock speeds above 3.70 GHz.
