The National Assembly Standing Committee has passed a resolution agreeing to dismiss Mr. Lai The Nguyen of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa province and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province from their duties as deputies of the 15th National Assembly.

The Office of the National Assembly has just issued a press release on the dismissal of the XV National Assembly deputies.

The announcement stated that on the afternoon of September 22, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and decide on the dismissal of Mr. Lai The Nguyen, a 15th National Assembly delegate from the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa province, and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, a 15th National Assembly delegate from the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province.

Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent agencies; based on the Submission of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Deputies' Work Committee; considering the application for resignation from the duties of National Assembly deputies dated September 18, 2025 of Mr. Lai The Nguyen and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam; the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1831/NQ-UBTVQH15.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee unanimously agreed to dismiss Mr. Lai The Nguyen of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa province and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province from their duties as deputies of the 15th National Assembly.

Mr. Lai The Nguyen, born in 1970, was the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. He was granted early retirement by the Central Government on September 12, 2025.

Mr. Lai The Nguyen has held the following positions: Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Secretary of Ngoc Lac District Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of Thanh Hoa province.

Previously, on September 8, information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee said that Mr. Tran Quoc Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee submitted a resignation letter for personal reasons.

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam was born in 1971, his hometown is Quang Ngai province. Before becoming Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam had more than 25 years of working experience in Ninh Thuan (old).

He served as Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, then Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee from 2020 and as a National Assembly Delegate of the 15th term, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Thuan Province. After the merger of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces, from July 1, 2025, Mr. Nam was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
