Two more National Assembly deputies resign

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Lai The Nguyen and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam ceased their duties as deputies of the 15th National Assembly, according to the decision of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

On the afternoon of September 22, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and decide on the dismissal of two personnel from the duties of deputies of the 15th National Assembly. They are Mr. Lai The Nguyen (of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa Province) and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam (of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa Province).

This content was discussed by the National Assembly Standing Committee, approved by secret ballot and issued a Resolution.

According to the National Assembly Standing Committee, the dismissal of Mr. Lai The Nguyen and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam as National Assembly deputies was carried out on the basis of the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, relevant legal provisions and opinions of competent authorities.

Mr. Lai The Nguyen and Mr. Tran Quoc Nam also submitted their resignations from their duties as National Assembly deputies on September 18.

Mr. Lai The Nguyen, born in 1970, was the Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Nguyen has held many local positions such as Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Secretary of Ngoc Lac District Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of Thanh Hoa province.

On September 17, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council informed that the Central Government decided to grant early retirement to Mr. Lai The Nguyen.

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam was born in 1971, held the position of Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, then Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee since 2020. He was a delegate of the 15th National Assembly and held the position of Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Thuan province.

After the merger of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces, from July 1, Mr. Nam was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province.

On September 8, the leader of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee confirmed that Mr. Nam submitted a resignation letter for "personal reasons".
