Mr. Vu Trung Kien holds the position of Commander of the Border Guard.

Before being appointed Commander of the Border Guard, comrade Vu Trung Kien held the position of Director of the Border Guard Reconnaissance Department.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 2458/QD-TTg appointing Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, to hold the position of Commander of the Border Guard (Major General Vu Trung Kien was recently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General by the President).

Decision No. 2458/QD-TTg takes effect from the date of signing (November 7, 2025).

Before being appointed Commander of the Border Guard, comrade Vu Trung Kien held the position of Director of the Border Guard Reconnaissance Department.

In October 2021, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Commander of the Law Department of the Vietnam Coast Guard./.
