SOOBIN sings Xam 'Muc Ha Vo Nhan': When Vietnamese culture blends with modern music

On November 10, singer SOOBIN Hoang Son and SpaceSpeakers Label released the music video (MV) "Muc ha vo nhan" - a breakthrough step for SOOBIN when he combined Vietnamese Xam music with modern music , creating a mix that is both rich in national identity and in tune with the contemporary breath.

Xam is known by many people as a type of Vietnamese folk song, popular in the delta and midlands of the North, used to reflect the people's voices on all aspects of life.

The MV “Muc Ha Vo Nhan” tells a humorous and witty story about two boys pretending to be fortune tellers to flirt with village girls, but in the end the whole village teaches them a lesson - a metaphor for the message “Everyone, be good.”

The MV brings together a cast of “cameo” actors: People’s Artist Huynh Tu (SOOBIN’s father), People’s Artist Tu Long, Trung Ruoi, Do Duy Nam, Lan Thy, along with the appearance of folk instrument artisans. With wit and satirical art, the director recreated the Northern countryside scene in a realistic, rustic, witty yet modern way in every frame.

The MV was directed by Phuong Vu and Hoang Dang with the SpaceSpeakers Label team, bringing a fresh perspective, affirming the spirit of "bringing Vietnamese culture into popular music" - the typical direction that SOOBIN is pursuing.

After two nights of "SOOBIN Live Concert All-rounder" on May 26-27 in Hanoi , the male singer continued to organize "SOOBIN Live Concert All-rounder The Final" on November 29 in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Music Director SlimV and Stage Director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu, the show will be expanded from an indoor stage to an extremely grand outdoor space but still maintain the "all-rounder" concept.

The show will have changes in the program to create surprises for the audience. In addition to the combination of SOOBIN and the high-class guests: Binz, Rhymastic, the group "Rookie Upgrade", the concert also has many "unknowns" that have not been revealed.

The entire production crew are the ones behind the resounding success of the two nights of “SOOBIN Live Concert All-rounder” in Hanoi, ensuring to bring Ho Chi Minh City audiences the most explosive and anticipated musical experience of the year.

In addition, SOOBIN and SpaceSpeakers Label have announced the community campaign “Xam to School” aiming to bring traditional music, specifically Xam, closer to the young generation, through teaching workshops, exchanges and experiences of Xam at 3 schools in the North, Central and South. This is a project chaired by SOOBIN as an Ambassador, spreading the love for folk music, contributing to preserving and renewing Vietnamese cultural values./.

Coming from “Vietnamese Star 2014” as runner-up, SOOBIN quickly affirmed his name when he won the Silver Prize at “The Remix 2016.” He left his mark with a series of “million-view” ballad hits such as “Behind a Girl,” “Di De Tro Ve,” “Vai Lan Don Du,” “Anh Da Hat Voi Co Don”… Not limiting himself, SOOBIN continued to conquer the audience in the R&B genre through “Dancing in the Dark,” “The Playah,” “Troc Tro,” “Gia Nhu” – the song reached Top 1 Trending Music Youtube Vietnam after only 4 days of release.
