On November 10, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Head of the Inter-sectoral Working Group, Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense's Steering Committee on participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations, chaired the rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam-India Bilateral Exercise on United Nations Peacekeeping Operations 2025 (VINBAX 2025).
Following the success of VINBAX 2024 in India, VINBAX 2025 is the fourth bilateral field exercise on United Nations peacekeeping between the Vietnamese and Indian armies, scheduled to take place from November 11-27, 2025, at the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi, Vietnam).
This is an important and practical activity, contributing to strengthening friendship, solidarity, and promoting good defense cooperation between Vietnam and India within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
This field exercise is large in both force and equipment, with the participation of nearly 300 personnel, focusing on deploying activities and performing tasks of the Engineering force combined with the Medical, Rescue and Search and Rescue elements, in the formation of units participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations, aiming to improve the professional capacity and coordination ability of forces preparing to deploy to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
In addition to professional activities, within the framework of VINBAX 2025, there are also reception, exchange, sports , cultural and artistic activities, cultural tours... contributing to enhancing understanding and solidarity, friendship and cohesion among participating members.
Praising the officers, soldiers, agencies and units that actively participated, contributing to the good results and success of the rehearsal, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan noted that preparations for the opening ceremony must be carried out fully and thoughtfully, from forces, vehicles, costumes, to the content of the operating script.
Appreciating the agencies and units that have promoted the sense of responsibility, actively and proactively carried out the preparation work for the VINBAX 2025 Exercise, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan requested that the forces continue to coordinate closely and review the final preparations in all aspects, so that the Opening Ceremony of the Exercise takes place solemnly and successfully.
At the rehearsal, relevant agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense gave their opinions on the organization of the opening ceremony, to ensure the event takes place solemnly.

The bilateral exercise on United Nations peacekeeping is a practical cooperation activity between the Vietnam People's Army and the Indian Army in recent years. VINBAX 2025 is the 6th bilateral exercise on United Nations peacekeeping between the Vietnam People's Army and the Indian Army and also the 4th field exercise on United Nations peacekeeping between the two armies.
The first VINBAX exercise was held in India in 2018 in the form of a tabletop exercise. The second VINBAX exercise was held in Vietnam in 2019 in the same format.
Based on the success of these two exercises, the VINBAX Exercise in recent years has been gradually expanded and upgraded to a field exercise in accordance with the policy agreed upon by the leaders of the two sides at the bilateral Defense Dialogues./.
