Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung was introduced to be elected as Chairman of Hanoi.

On the afternoon of November 10, on behalf of the Politburo , Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented the Politburo's decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

Speaking at the conference, the new Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his deep gratitude to the Politburo for entrusting him with the new responsibility. He affirmed that this is an honor and pride, as well as a great responsibility to the Party Committee, government and people of the capital.

Mr. Trung promised to devote all his heart, mind and strength to strive to complete assigned tasks well, constantly train, maintain political courage, uphold the sense of responsibility, proactively innovate, be honest in public ethics, be dedicated, turn pressure into motivation, be close to the grassroots, respect the people, listen and be open to learning.

"I would like to sincerely thank and seriously accept, fully understand, and deeply direct the specific tasks assigned to me by Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc. In my new position, I have determined that these are key tasks and priorities to focus on in the coming time," Mr. Trung stated.

The new Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Nguyen Duc Trung, also sent his thanks to the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province for always trusting, helping and creating favorable conditions for him in the past nearly 6 years of work.

In his new position, Mr. Trung vows to devote himself wholeheartedly and make every effort to contribute, always putting the interests of the Party, the people and the capital first and foremost.

"I will work with the collective leadership of the City Party Committee, headed by Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc, to always maintain solidarity and unity, uphold the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, and acting decisively and effectively as the Secretary of the City Party Committee has affirmed: No success comes from a single individual, only unity and dedication in action can create miracles," Mr. Trung emphasized.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc said he was very pleased to represent the Politburo to implement the Politburo's decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025-2030, and at the same time introduce him to the City People's Council to elect him as Chairman of the City People's Committee, term 2021-2026.

According to Mr. Ngoc, this is the Politburo's trust and recognition of Mr. Trung's qualities, capacity, prestige and practical achievements, and at the same time demonstrates the Central Government's determination in building a team of cadres to meet the requirements of the capital's tasks, associated with the implementation of the policy of arranging chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities who are not local people.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee assessed that Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung was well-trained, had held many positions at the central and local levels, was a capable and experienced cadre in State management and Party building, had innovative thinking, scientific working methods, was determined, was close to the grassroots, dared to think, dared to do, and dared to take responsibility.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee requested members of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, leaders at all levels and sectors in the whole city to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity, unity, support and companionship so that the new Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Nguyen Duc Trung, can successfully complete the assigned tasks.
