Young Vietnamese tennis player achieves impressive results at world pickleball tournament

(Dan Tri) - Young talent Tran Duc Khang excellently won the Silver Medal in the U14 mixed doubles event at the 2025 World Junior Pickleball Championship on November 9 in the US.

The 2025 World Junior Pickleball Championship, organized by the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) in the US, is a large-scale playground, gathering hundreds of young talents from all continents.

Representing Asia, the Vietnamese pickleball team participated with 4 players competing in all 5 events in three age groups U12, U14 and U16. Among them, Duc Khang and his teammate Dan Linh Huong, competed excellently to bring home the prestigious Silver Medal in the U14 mixed doubles event, marking an important step forward for Vietnamese pickleball on the world map.

The success at the 2025 World Junior Pickleball Championship is not the first time Tran Duc Khang has made his mark. At the age of 14, this player already owns an impressive collection of titles, including two Gold Medals (Men's Singles and Men's Doubles U14) at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025, three Gold Medals at the D Joys Tour 2, and a series of championships at the 2025 National Youth Pickleball Championship.

In particular, Duc Khang also surprised fans when he competed "above his level" in the U19 category at PPA Open MB 2025, which gathered athletes up to 5 years older and excellently won two bronze medals.

The silver medal at the 2025 World Youth Pickleball Championship has a particularly profound meaning as this is the first time young talent Tran Duc Khang has participated in a world-class tournament.

Despite having to face strong opponents from pickleball powerhouses like the US and Canada, the 14-year-old Vietnamese player still showed amazing courage.

Duc Khang maintained a stable performance, with the ability to move flexibly, react quickly and launch precise shots at key moments. This classy performance not only helped the 14-year-old player win glory but also affirmed the position of Vietnamese pickleball, which is strongly reaching out to the international arena.
