"Shocking" case of fixing 10th grade entrance exam scores in Thanh Hoa, turning failed exam into valedictorian!

The identities of the teachers have not been specifically disclosed by the police, however, among the 6 teachers prosecuted, one is a principal.

According to the reporter's investigation, in the 10th grade entrance exam (school year 2024 - 2025) in Thanh Hoa province, authorities discovered that 1 test paper had been edited, erased, and had answers added to it, pushing the score unusually high.

Accordingly, the incident occurred at the Examination Board of Ngoc Lac High School (Thanh Hoa) when a 10th grade student of Le Hong Phong High School (Bim Son, Thanh Hoa) went from failing the 10th grade entrance exam to becoming valedictorian.

Specifically, the 10th grade entrance exam scores of this student when announced as successful (transcript) were: Math 8 points; Literature 8.5 points; English 6.4 points (all scores without coefficients). However, when there was information reflected, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province checked and discovered that the exam scores of this candidate were only: Math 4.5 points; Literature 6.5 points and English 2.4 points.

The cause of the above incident was later determined by the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province due to the return team, the score of the Examination Council of Ngoc Lac High School had mistakenly posted the exam score. However, after a period of active investigation, on the afternoon of July 14, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police informed that the Investigation Police Agency had initiated a case, prosecuted 6 defendants, all of whom were exam supervisors for the 10th grade entrance exam (school year 2024 - 2025), at the Examination Council of Tinh Gia 4 High School (Thanh Hoa), to investigate the act of forgery in the work.

Currently, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and clarify to handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
