In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training will maintain the same university and college admission regulations as in recent years. This creates a stable and confident mindset for students. According to the Ministryof Education and Training, 2024 is the last year of the high school graduation exam taking place according to the 2006 general education program. From 2025, the exam will be adjusted according to the 2018 general education program. Anticipating the adjustments to the graduation exam, many universities, in addition to announcing enrollment plans, are also proactively holding dialogues, consulting, and career guidance so that students have more information, choose the right career as well as future job opportunities.
At a dialogue and consultation session, student Pham Ngoc Linh, class 12A1, Dong Quan High School (Phu Xuyen, Hanoi) asked: "I want to study at a school specializing in economics, natural sciences, but I still have some concerns about choosing a major and school. So, what should I do to ensure admission and increase my future job opportunities?"
Tran Tuan Anh, Phu Xuyen A High School also shared that in just a short time, the high school graduation exam and the registration for admission will begin. However, up to now, he still has many concerns about choosing a career as well as the admission process. Tuan Anh said that he likes the accounting profession but is worried about the saturation of human resources in this industry in the labor market, so he hopes to receive advice and guidance from teachers...
Sharing with students, Dr. Pham Van Tu, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Social Work, Hanoi National University of Education, said that this year the school has five admission methods including: Admission based on high school graduation exam results; admission based on excellent students, students from provincial specialized schools, international foreign language and IT certificates; admission based on high school transcripts; using aptitude test results for some majors in physical education and music; and competency assessment tests. Hanoi National University of Education only admits students with good conduct or better. In addition, students should pay attention to the application submission deadlines specified on the school's website.
According to Vice Principal of Thanh Do University Nguyen Thuy Van, in 2024, the school will have four admission methods. Students can find information about admission methods and vocational training programs on the school's website and fanpage to choose a suitable career.

Meanwhile, Head of Cooperation Department, British University Vietnam Dang Thi Ngoc Quyen said that choosing a major is like choosing a life partner. Therefore, students need to follow these steps: Understand yourself (understand yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, your circumstances, and surrounding issues); understand the major, understand what the school you will study in the future is like, what the curriculum is like; experience, meet people you are interested in, visit and learn about the schools you plan to apply for, and the majors you plan to choose; collect all the information from the above steps, make a plan and make a decision.
Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), said that in 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training will maintain the same admission regulations as the last two admission seasons to create a stable mentality for students. Accordingly, the entire process from registration for admission, registration of wishes, change of wishes, payment of admission fees and confirmation of admission will be conducted online.
Therefore, students should not miss important milestones, because the general admission system cannot go back to the previous stages just to wait for a few students. In addition, students also need to pay special attention when participating in early admission methods of higher education institutions. Students need to carefully study the university's admission plan announced on the website, closely follow the records, procedures, documents and deadlines.
When students are notified that they have been admitted early, they are not yet admitted to university, because they have not taken the exam and have not graduated from high school, so they are not officially admitted. All of their wishes, whether they are admitted early or not, must be registered on the Ministry of Education and Training's General Admission Support System after receiving their graduation exam scores. If students do not enter their early admission wishes into the system, they will not be recorded as admission wishes and will not be determined to be admitted.
Currently, universities use many admission methods (according to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, there are about 20 methods); in which, in addition to direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and admission by high school graduation exam scores, the remaining methods are considered early admission.
