Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway is one of the 3 North - South Expressway projects in phase 1, with a length of 78.5 km, passing through 3 provinces of Khanh Hoa (nearly 5 km), Ninh Thuan (63 km), Binh Thuan (nearly 12 km), invested by the joint venture Deo Ca Group - Company 194.

The project has a total investment of more than VND8,925 billion, with an implementation period of 24 months; the 2.2 km long Vung mountain tunnel section passing through Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces will have an implementation period of 30 months.

In the first days of 2024, the construction site of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway project is in full swing, ready for the opening day on April 30, connecting the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Khanh Hoa province. Among them, the important item is the Vung Mountain tunnel.

The two ends of the approach road have been paved with asphalt, and the project operator's house at the tunnel entrance towards Binh Thuan has been formed.

In the southern tunnel, due to the weak geological zone, different from the approved technical design documents, the tunnel excavation progress was affected. Currently, the construction unit has overcome the difficulties with technical measures, and at the same time accelerated the construction 3 shifts/day and night to make up for the progress, striving to complete the project on March 30 (1 month ahead of schedule).
