On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, President Vo Van Thuong warmly congratulated King Charles III, the Queen, the Royal Family and the people of the UK; and believed that the UK and Northern Ireland will continue to develop and prosper.

The President affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership and hopes that the King and the British Royal Family will continue to actively support the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries to develop more deeply and comprehensively in the coming time. The President respectfully invited the King to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.
King Charles III expressed his gratitude for the affection and deep concern of the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders for him and the royal family. He was impressed by Vietnam's socio -economic development achievements and comprehensive and active foreign policy implementation in recent times and highly appreciated Vietnam's commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
King Charles III emphasized that he personally supports cooperation in combating climate change, and believes that the AstraZeneca Group's investment of 50 million USD to restore forests and landscapes in Vietnam is very meaningful. The King affirmed that the British Royal Family and the King himself always care about and support Vietnam's innovation and development as well as the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership.
2023 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. We hope that in the next 50 years, the two countries will continue to build an even better relationship together.
President Vo Van Thuong also met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. At the meeting, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that the potential for cooperation between the UK and Vietnam is huge. The UK always wants to further connect with Vietnam and thanked Vietnam for supporting the UK in the negotiation process to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
