Saigontourist Group Golf Tournament "For the Community" awards 1,000 scholarships

(NLDO) – 1,000 scholarships worth 1 billion VND for students in difficult circumstances were donated from the 19th Saigontourist Group Golf Tournament "For the Community"

As part of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding (August 1, 1975 - August 1, 2025), Saigon Tourist Corporation has successfully organized the 19th Saigontourist Group Golf Tournament "For the Community" - 2025 at Vietnam Golf & Country Club (HCMC) on the afternoon of August 2.

Considered one of the most prestigious events, this year's tournament attracted the participation of 140 golfers who are businessmen, managers, and representatives of diplomatic agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities with the aim of joining hands for the community and carrying out many charitable works.

The 19th Saigontourist Group "For the Community" golf tournament attracted the golfer community with a total of 17 prizes, including two special "Hole in One" prizes - the prize at hole 7 is a Mercedes C200 Avantgarde and the prize at hole 16 is a travel voucher worth 500 million VND from Saigontourist Travel Service Company, which guests can use to buy tours, air tickets, hotel rooms and rent tourist cars.

Golfers compete enthusiastically

The organizing committee awarded many valuable prizes to golfers with high rankings in categories such as "Nearest to the pin", "Longest drive", prizes for freestyle athletes, women's group prizes, men's group prizes in groups A, B and the Best Gross award for golfer Huynh Quang Duc.

This year's tournament successfully donated 1,000 scholarships with a total value of 1 billion VND, to studious students with difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

All donations will be given directly to the children through the cooperation of Saigontourist Group and the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Poor Patients, contributing to brightening the future for the young generation.

The organizing committee awarded a symbolic board of 1,000 scholarships to the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Poor Patients.

The Saigontourist Group Golf Tournament "For the Community" has been held annually since 2006 for charity purposes. After 19 times of organization, the tournament has attracted about 3,000 golfers to participate.

The amount of money raised from the tournament over the years has amounted to over 12 billion VND, of which over 8 billion VND is reserved for scholarships and the remaining amount is used for many other practical charity and social programs, supporting and caring for unfortunate and vulnerable situations in society.

The most prominent of these are scholarship programs for studious students in difficult circumstances, students at Nguyen Dinh Chieu School for the Blind and shelters in Ho Chi Minh City as well as in other provinces and cities; support for heart surgery, eye surgery, free medical examination and treatment for disadvantaged patients; relief for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas; building charity houses, building rural bridges in remote areas, and orphaned students due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigontourist Group, shared: "We are proud that the tournament has created a connection between golfers, accompanying businesses and the community to join hands to create profound human values. The tournament is not only a sporting event, but also a festival of kindness and sharing."

The organizers and delegates congratulated the 50th anniversary of Saigontourist Group.

Besides the golf tournament, Saigontourist Group also organizes other charity activities, demonstrating a strong commitment to the community, typically the Program to support production development and social security in Can Gio with a total budget of 10 billion VND for the period 2017-2020,

Clean Water for Schools Program, supporting mountainous people affected by natural disasters, giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; awarding scholarships to children of Saigontourist Group staff and employees in difficult circumstances, showing deep concern for those who have contributed to Saigontourist Group.
