At the meeting, Bac Kan province introduced the potential and strengths of the locality. Bac Kan has many similarities with Seongju district in terms of development in the agricultural sector. Bac Kan's advantage is that the forestry land area is more than 413 thousand hectares, accounting for 85% of the total natural land area, of which the forestry land area with forests is more than 372 thousand hectares, natural forests are about 272 thousand hectares and planted forests are more than 100 thousand hectares, the timber output is more than 305 thousand m3 . In the agricultural sector, Bac Kan province has also been strongly innovating its thinking and production and business organization forms in the direction of agricultural economics by forming and developing value chains and promoting cooperation and linkages within the province, within the region, between regions, nationally and internationally, focusing on developing advantageous agricultural products according to key product groups, building concentrated commodity production areas according to market criteria and requirements, and providing enough raw materials for the processing industry.
Regarding the situation of Bac Kan seasonal workers in Korea, the province currently has about 40,000 workers working outside the province, of which nearly 10,000 are working abroad, mainly in the markets of Taiwan and Japan. In Korea alone, under the EPS Labor Program, Bac Kan has about 250 local workers working in Korea with an average income of 40 million VND/month. Through the Program, the lives of many households in the province have been improved. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Seongju District, Gyeongsangbuk Province, South Korea Do Huijae said that Seongju District is famous for its oriental melon production. Farms in the District account for about 70% of the total oriental melon production in the country. The District is implementing many solutions to attract foreign seasonal workers to work locally, especially in the agricultural sector. With similarities in agriculture between the two localities, Seongju District hopes to sign a cooperation agreement on seasonal labor recruitment with Bac Kan Province in the future...
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to investment promotion between Bac Kan province and Seongju district, Gyeongsangbuk province. They focused on clarifying a number of issues related to occupations and benefits for workers working in Korea; Korean language and professional training for workers when implementing seasonal labor programs; safety measures, labor protection, accommodation and living conditions when working in Korea; providing information on issues related to work, rights and obligations of workers, etc.

Bac Kan province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs to be the focal points, advising on the implementation of both investment promotion and labor and employment issues. Bac Kan commits to selecting healthy and disciplined workers to participate in seasonal labor export to South Korea in the coming time. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that after today's working session, Bac Kan province and Seongju District government will continue to coordinate more effectively, promoting the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and South Korea./.
