This work was formed, continuously supplemented and updated for more than 20 years by the author, a centenarian researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu. Before boarding the train (he prefers to take the train to see the beautiful scenery of the country instead of taking a plane) to Hanoi to attend the National Book Award which will take place on the evening of November 29 at the Hanoi Opera House, researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu welcomed a special guest to visit his home, that is Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai.

Mr. Phan Van Mai asked about the health and congratulated the 104-year-old researcher whose work about the land and people of Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City was awarded the 7th National Book Award. Also with the National Book Award, in 2018, researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu received the A prize with the 2-volume work French Colonialism in the South (1859 - 1954).

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai and Deputy Chief of Office of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy presented gifts to researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu.

The researcher shared that although the work of writing is hard, if the work is well received by the public and highly appreciated by the jury, it is the joy of the researcher, when he is old he feels that he can still contribute to society in an academic aspect.

Researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu also expressed his joy, signing for Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai three long stories Nguyen Xi, Le Song and Di Gai, Con Chong, which were just published by Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House.

It is known that these three short stories are the works that started the senior researcher's writing career, first published in the newspaper Truyen ba thoi gian 1943 - 1944, 80 years ago. Thanks to the fate when editor Tran Dinh Ba, now Deputy Director - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House, found the documents of these works, now these short stories have the opportunity to return to beloved readers.
