Prepare human resources for Long Thanh airport immediately

That was the request of Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department when inspecting the Long Thanh airport project on November 13.

On the afternoon of November 13, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia visited and presented gifts at Long Thanh airport.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia and his delegation attended the National Great Unity Day at Tan Bac Hamlet, Binh Minh Commune, Trang Bom District ( Dong Nai ).

Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that currently, the progress of bidding packages such as terminals, runways, T1 - T2 roads... are all meeting and exceeding the set plan.

In particular, the 4.6 runway and taxiway package is 2 months ahead of schedule and is expected to be put into operation from April 30, 2025. The passenger terminal package has completed the rough construction and is installing the roof steel structure. It is expected to be completed and put into operation from August 30, 2026. The traffic road connecting T1 and T2 is currently more than half completed, with many sections being graded with crushed stone and base stone.

"We always urge contractors, engineers, and workers to work in many shifts to speed up the progress. The airport construction is going very well, and there is enough supply of sand, soil, rock, and cement for the construction process," said Mr. Hung.

Also at the meeting, ACV proposed that functional units soon expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to make it more convenient for passengers to get to and from the airport.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia encouraged the construction unit.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, said that currently, traffic connection to Long Thanh airport is the most important. It requires a large amount of traffic connection space. Currently, there are many routes deployed around the airport to meet passenger transportation needs.

Human resources working at the airport are also of great concern and training to Dong Nai province and related units. Commercial services around the airport are also of interest to the locality. Airport urban planning is being gradually implemented, step by step promoting investment attraction and projects to realize the goal of a modern airport urban area.

The delegation visited and gave gifts to people in Long Thanh resettlement area.

During a site visit to the airport project, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the efforts of the construction units for speeding up the project items. Mr. Nghia said that Long Thanh airport is a major project that the whole country is interested in and looking forward to. To make the airport what it is today, it is the solidarity of the people and related units.

After visiting Long Thanh airport, the delegation continued to visit and give gifts to people in the resettlement area of Loc An - Binh Son (resettlement area of Long Thanh airport). Here, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia asked about the people's accommodation and jobs. He was happy that the people had built spacious houses and settled down.

The head of the Central Propaganda Department also encouraged people in the resettlement area to try to send their children to school, especially those related to aviation, so that they can have human resources to work at Long Thanh airport in the future. Dong Nai provincial government also prioritizes training, especially for children of families who have given up land to serve the airport, to both have human resources and create a stable livelihood for the people in the long term.
