
Youth Union sends love
Nguyen Thi Kieu Vy (Cam Le ward) has a particularly difficult situation. Her mother has heart disease and is often sick; her father had a work accident and his health has declined.
Once at risk of dropping out of school, but since 2022, Vy has been sponsored by the City Police Department's Records Department Youth Union and has been receiving regular support of 1 million VND/quarter. At the beginning of the new school year, in addition to financial support, the Youth Union also gave her school supplies and books to help her continue going to school.
Le Duc Viet (Hoa Xuan Ward) is also in a pitiful situation as he has autism and his family is in a difficult situation. In early 2024, the Youth Union of the Detention Camp, City Police Department took over and supported Viet with 1 million VND/quarter. In addition, the Youth Union members regularly come to encourage, give gifts, books, clothes, and motivate him to integrate and study hard.
These are 2 of 33 students in the area that the police youth union has taken care of and sponsored under the model "Accompanying you to school".
Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dinh Tri, Deputy Head of the Youth Department of Da Nang City Police, said that the above model was deployed by the Youth Department in 2019. The support of the police branches not only provides material support but also a source of spiritual encouragement, helping the children on their learning path.
At the beginning of the new school year, the police youth union continued to visit, give financial support for the third quarter and give away school supplies, books, and clothes to help the children go to school.
Looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year, many Youth Union branches in the city have implemented practical activities to support disadvantaged students. On August 18, 50 Youth Union members from Dong Duong commune poured concrete in the school yard and renovated classrooms at Binh Lanh Kindergarten, contributing to ensuring facilities to welcome children to the new school year.
Previously, the City Party Committee organized the volunteer program “Pink Vacation” in Song Vang Commune, presenting more than 20 gifts to disadvantaged students. In addition, the City Youth Union has just launched the program “Giving Knowledge - Winging Dreams” at Prao Town Primary School (Dong Giang Commune) and presented 100 gifts, milk, and 10 scholarships to students.
Women Companion
On the eve of the new school year, Tan Binh 1 Women's Union (Son Tra Ward Women's Union) organized the program "Books for knowledge - notebooks for love" to give away 25 new sets of books, 120 reams of notebooks and gifts with a total cost of 26 million VND to students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies. This is the 5th year the program has been organized, the funding for implementation is contributed by benefactors and from the source of scrap sold by the union.
In Dong Duong commune, the Women's Union organized the program "Support to go to school", giving 60 gifts, including 30 bicycles, 60 school bags, notebooks, hats and cash, totaling 95 million VND to students. Previously, the Women's Union of Thang Phu commune also gave gifts to 14 disadvantaged students, and sponsored 9 students with a total amount of 40.4 million VND.
According to the City Women's Union, caring for and supporting disadvantaged students before the new school year is an annual activity, widely implemented from the city to the grassroots. Through practical gifts such as books, bicycles, scholarships and clothes, the association hopes to add confidence and motivation for students to overcome difficulties, study hard and not drop out of school.
In particular, from fundraising models by sorting recyclable waste and the cooperation of members and philanthropists, the activities have spread widely, contributing to social security work and demonstrating the organization's responsibility to future generations.
