Various types of waste are collected by the forces on duty on Hon Khoai Island.
Hon Khoai Island is located about 15 nautical miles east of Dat Mui estuary and has two beaches: Bai Lon (Large Beach) and Bai Nho (Small Beach). Currently, there are four forces regularly stationed on the island: Hon Khoai Border Guard Post ( Ca Mau Border Guard Command), Radar Station 595 (Naval Region 5 Command), Hon Khoai Forest Ranger Station (Ca Mau Forestry Department), and Hon Khoai Lighthouse Station (Southwest Maritime Safety Company).
Many areas on the island have been cleaned up.
Due to its isolation from the mainland, Hon Khoai Island is constantly exposed to a large amount of waste carried ashore by tides and waves throughout the year. Therefore, collecting waste and cleaning the marine environment and the surrounding area has become a regular activity for the forces stationed there.
Officers and soldiers of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station, along with other forces, are collecting waste.
This campaign not only contributes to cleaning up the marine environment but also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness among fishermen around the island about environmental protection. It also calls on people not to litter indiscriminately into the sea and to work together to preserve the green, clean, and beautiful landscape of Hon Khoai Island.
Forces on Hon Khoai Island launched a campaign titled "Joining Hands to Clean Up the Marine Environment".
