Spread the spirit of "helping each other"

These days, the relief goods receiving point of the Provincial Red Cross (No. 118, Nguyen Trai Street, Nha Trang Ward) is always bustling. Many bags of rice, boxes of instant noodles, drinking water, medicine, essential necessities... are continuously brought by units, businesses, organizations, unions and people in the province to send support. Although he is over 70 years old this year, Mr. Dao Xuan Kha in Nha Trang Ward was present early, personally bringing boxes of instant noodles to the gathering point to give to people in flood-hit areas. Mr. Kha was moved: "Seeing the scene of people in the North whose houses were flooded, I felt very sorry. I brought 4 boxes of noodles to donate, if you have a little, you contribute a little, if you have a lot, you contribute a lot, as long as it helps people overcome their difficulties." Mr. Le Tuan Anh - representative of Tam Dental Clinic (Nam Nha Trang ward) shared: "With the desire to contribute a small part to people in storm and flood areas, when we learned that the Provincial Red Cross Association launched the campaign, we quickly mobilized 100 boxes of instant noodles to support people. We will continue to mobilize employees in the company to donate to people in flood areas in the next batches. We hope the natural disaster will soon pass so that people can stabilize their lives."

According to statistics from the Provincial Red Cross Association, after 4 days of launching, the campaign "Joining hands to overcome floods" has received about 24 tons of goods, including essential necessities, with a total value of about 650 million VND. On the first day of launching, the association received strong response from agencies, businesses, organizations and people throughout the province with a total of nearly 10 tons of goods received, worth about 250 million VND. Mr. Ngo Minh Tu - Head of Health Care Department, Provincial Red Cross Association shared: “In response to the call, many agencies, businesses, organizations and people in the province have actively participated, contributing cash, goods and essential necessities to people in flood-affected areas. The Association will coordinate with volunteer car groups to transport relief goods, with the goal of bringing essential goods to affected areas as soon as possible. In case of large quantities of goods, we will organize transportation by rail to Hanoi , then hand over to the Hanoi Red Cross Association, Thai Nguyen or the Central Vietnam Red Cross Association to continue distributing to the localities in greatest need. We also hope that agencies, units, businesses and people in the province will continue to accompany and join hands with the Provincial Red Cross Association to support people in the North to overcome this difficult period”.

At the warehouse of the Provincial Red Cross Association, the working atmosphere is always busy these days. Each box of goods and each gift package sent by Khanh Hoa people to the people in the disaster area is classified and packaged by the Red Cross volunteers, ready to be sent to the North. Each gift, whether big or small, contains a heart of sharing, showing the spirit of "mutual love and support", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" - the noble gesture of Khanh Hoa people towards their compatriots facing difficulties after the rain and floods.

Light up the spirit of charity

Joining hands to help people affected by storms and floods, the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and Trade Union of Ninh Thuan General Hospital (Ninh Chu Ward) also organized a ceremony to mobilize cadres, civil servants, and employees to support people in overcoming the damage caused by storm No. 10. Master, Specialist II Doctor Le Huy Thach - Director of Ninh Thuan General Hospital shared: "Sympathizing with the heavy losses that people in the northern provinces are suffering due to floods, promoting the tradition of solidarity, "mutual love", "helping each other", on October 9, the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and Trade Union of the Hospital called on all cadres, civil servants and employees to donate (phase 1) more than 301 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to transfer to the affected localities. In Ninh Hai commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune organized a fundraising event to support people in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10. This activity not only called for the cooperation and contribution of all local cadres, party members and people, but also had the meaning of spreading the spirit of solidarity and humanity - a precious traditional value of the Vietnamese people. From that call, hundreds of hearts turned to the provinces affected by storm No. 10. After just one launching session, the whole commune raised more than 71 million VND, sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to transfer to localities that are suffering heavy damage due to storms and floods. Mr. Nguyen Khac Hoa - Chairman of Ninh Hai Commune People's Committee, shared: "In times of trouble, human love is even more precious. We consider this not only a campaign, but an opportunity to foster humanity, arouse community awareness - for our people, for a Vietnam where no one is left behind".

On Pham Ngoc Thach Street (Ninh Chu Ward), Mr. Tran Van Hoan - a citizen full of enthusiasm for charity work, and his group called for donations of necessities to send to the flood area. In just a few days, the group mobilized more than 1,400 boxes of instant noodles, 7,500 boxes of mineral water, 1,000 portions of dried sticky rice with pork floss, 750kg of rice, 14 boxes of milk and hundreds of other essential gifts such as candy, medical medicine, and personal items for women and children.

From those simple but meaningful actions, we can clearly see the power of compassion and solidarity - the "source" that flows forever in the Vietnamese soul. In times of trouble and natural disasters, people's hearts become closer together. Donations, tons of food, medicine or essential gifts... have been and are lighting up faith, warming many homes, so that when the rain stops and the water recedes, people in flooded areas will have more motivation to quickly stabilize their lives from the love and affection of their fellow countrymen.

Currently, the Provincial Red Cross Society has deployed 3 points to receive relief goods including:

- No. 34, Yersin Street, Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.
