Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025): Promoting the role of farmers in building new rural areas

Promoting the patriotic and revolutionary tradition of the Vietnamese peasant class, in recent times, the Farmers' Association of Khanh Hoa province has always upheld the spirit of responsibility, the will to strive, self-reliance, and self-strengthening, making efforts to excellently complete tasks in the new period, especially widely implementing emulation movements, joining hands to build new rural areas, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

Farmers overcome difficulties to get rich

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the patriotic emulation movement of the Farmers' Association in the province has achieved positive results. Through the movement, more and more typical examples of farmers in production and business have appeared, farmers are united, helping each other overcome difficulties, rise up, and become rich legitimately.

Typically, in Van Ninh commune, Ms. Pham Thi Thuan, with the brand name "Thuan fish cake" is famous nationwide. Her facility earns a profit of 1.5 billion VND each year, creating jobs for more than 100 local workers. In Dong Ninh Hoa ward, Mr. Pham Cong Dam, with his comprehensive agricultural - service model, earns a profit of 2 billion VND each year, creating stable jobs for more than 120 workers. He also regularly contributes to social funds such as "For the poor" and "Repaying gratitude", demonstrating the spirit of "mutual love and support".

Up in the mountains, in Tay Khanh Son commune, Mr. Cao Nguyet, Head of the Ta Giang Agricultural Cooperative, is known by many as a model farmer who "is willing to learn, dares to think, dares to do". He boldly invested in growing and processing red lingzhi mushrooms. Thanks to the correct implementation of technical processes, flexibility and sensitivity in production and business, the cooperative operates effectively, helping members earn a stable income of 10 - 20 million VND/month.

Or like Mr. Hung Ky's household in Phuoc Dinh commune, got rich thanks to growing and processing high-tech green asparagus and producing, trading and processing products from bird's nest, bringing in an average profit of 2.8 billion VND/year, creating stable jobs for 28 local workers.

In addition, there are many examples of farmers who are good at production and business, have many contributions to the community and society, and contribute to the sustainable poverty reduction work of the locality. Through the discussion, we realized that in these examples, although their ways of doing and operating in different fields, they all have the same spirit of progress, flexibility, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, hard-working, determined to overcome all difficulties to achieve the goal of "getting rich legitimately".

Ms. Phan Thi Ngan Hanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association said: "The movement of farmers competing in production, good business, solidarity to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty has brought many innovations in life, economy and rural society. The movement has always been focused on and launched by the Association at all levels, organized and implemented effectively. In the past 5 years, the whole province has had over 71,000 farmer households achieving the title of "Good Farmer in Production and Business" at all levels".

Promote solidarity

The emulation movements are not only a driving force to help members and farmers overcome difficulties to enrich themselves and their families, but also promote the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, and help each other improve production, business efficiency, and income. In the past 5 years, the association at all levels has mobilized good farming households to produce and do business, creating jobs for thousands of workers; providing capital, seeds, animals, and production experience to more than 1,125 farming households.

Not only helping each other develop the economy, members and farmers also actively participate in social and volunteer activities, contributing to the community, especially building new rural areas. Typically, in Nam Cam Ranh commune, Mr. Truong Van Lay donated ^3,000m2 of land to build rural roads. Mr. Nguyen Van Dac, in Ninh Son commune, donated 35 million VND to build rural roads; during the Covid-19 outbreak, he also donated 500kg of rice to charity kitchens serving quarantine areas....

According to Ms. Phan Thi Ngan Hanh, in order to effectively implement and spread the patriotic emulation movement among members and farmers, the association at all levels must always innovate, be creative, and flexibly implement it in accordance with practical situations, linking the movements with the implementation of Directive 05 on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle, considering this a key factor. The association always promotes the role of mobilizing, gathering, and accompanying members and farmers in building new rural areas.

In the period of 2025 - 2030, the Farmers' Association at all levels will continue to promote the patriotic emulation movement, focusing on "Farmers producing and doing business well, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" associated with the application of science, technology, and digital transformation in agricultural production. Continuously promote the role of farmers as the main subject in the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", especially completing the criteria on environment, culture and synchronous and modern infrastructure. The Association also focuses on building and replicating typical advanced individuals and collectives; actively implementing activities to support farmers: training in production techniques, loans, consulting, vocational training...; at the same time, promoting the representative role to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members, building an increasingly strong association, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.

With important contributions to the patriotic emulation movement and association work, over the past 5 years, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Farmers' Association and collectives and individuals have been awarded many noble titles by the Party and State: The President awarded the Independence Medal to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Farmers' Association (in 2023); awarded the Second-class Labor Medal to 1 individual; awarded the Third-class Labor Medal to 2 individuals. The Prime Minister awarded certificates of merit to the Provincial Farmers' Association (in 2021) and 2 individuals; awarded the Emulation Flag to the Provincial Farmers' Association (in 2020, 2023).
