"Bridge" between banks and people in the highlands

With 17 years of working at the Social Policy Bank, including 12 years as a credit officer, Mr. Hoang Thai Son (born in 1982), currently the Head of the Planning and Operation Team, Minh Hoa Social Policy Bank, understands very well the value of preferential capital for households in difficult circumstances. Therefore, he always strives to complete his professional tasks well, conveying preferential credit capital to poor households and other policy beneficiaries.

Every month, he and his colleagues get closer to the people through transaction activities at the grassroots level. He also actively participates in checking and monitoring the use of loans by customers; supporting loan group members with production and business methods, and using loans effectively...

Mr. Son shared: “Credit work is not just a task, but also a bond, responsibility, and affection for the people. I am always aware of the important role and significance of preferential capital in supporting poor and near-poor households and policy beneficiaries to develop production and escape poverty sustainably. Therefore, during my work, I have made efforts to complete the assigned tasks well, and at the same time, put forward a number of initiatives to improve work efficiency.”

In the coming time, he will continue to make efforts to disburse capital in a timely manner and widely disseminate information so that people clearly understand their rights and responsibilities. In addition, he will regularly follow the locality to strictly manage capital with the ultimate goal of helping people in the Northwest of Quang Tri have more motivation and tools to escape poverty sustainably.

"Pink lotus" of people in difficult areas

Enthusiastic and dedicated to work is how colleagues and customers describe Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang (born 1986), a credit officer of Vinh Linh Social Policy Bank.

Identifying credit officers as the "bridge" between the bank and customers, from the first days of working at Vinh Linh Social Policy Bank, Ms. Trang has been active in going to the grassroots to approach the area. Every month, she makes a specific work plan, such as: Debt management activities, interest collection, overdue debt collection, disbursement... Besides, she promptly answers issues that customers are interested in or encounter problems. Regardless of the long distance, she goes to each village and hamlet to propagate the economic development policies and guidelines of the Party Committee and government; and the implementation of the bank's credit programs to the people. During her 16 years of working, each trip to the grassroots always leaves her with many unforgettable impressions.

With the motto "close to the people, close to the people, eating together, sharing and learning about the need for loans", Ms. Trang has clearly understood the difficulties in economic development of the people and promptly advised the local Party Committee and government to solve them. She also grasped the thoughts and aspirations of the people to build programs and plans suitable for the need for loans. Thanks to good management of the area, the capital disbursed by the Social Policy Bank under her responsibility has continuously increased with a total outstanding loan balance of nearly 171 billion VND, 2,137 households borrowed capital and all used it for the right purpose and effectively.

“Maintaining contact with local authorities, associations and unions is very important, because they are the “extended arms”, helping credit officers more conveniently bring preferential capital to people in need. I feel lucky because in my work I always receive attention and support from superiors, colleagues and customers,” Ms. Trang shared.

Contribute to help thousands of poor households rise up

We had the opportunity to meet Mr. Tran Manh Hung (born in 1983), Head of the Planning and Operational Team, Bo Trach Social Policy Bank, during a business trip not long ago. Although it was the first time we met, his friendly, cheerful and enthusiastic attitude made an impression on us.

It is known that before being appointed to the position of team leader, Mr. Hung had 18 years of experience in credit work. In the past, in order for capital to reach the right people in need, he regularly advised local Party committees and authorities to develop credit plans, promptly allocate capital to each village, and identify beneficiaries who can borrow capital according to regulations. He also proactively coordinated with commune-level organizations and unions to entrust the implementation of credit indicators, such as: Lending, debt collection, interest collection, focusing on handling due debts, overdue debts, outstanding interest... He also accompanied the savings and loan groups in the process of meeting to consider loans democratically, equally, publicly, ensuring the correct procedures and the right beneficiaries.

18 years working in credit is also the time he has had the opportunity to accompany and contribute to helping thousands of customers in difficulty to rise up in life.

Mr. Hung affirmed: “In carrying out my responsibilities, I will continue to strengthen inspection and supervision of the entire disbursement process, from approval, appraisal to capital use, with the highest commitment to achieving the criteria of “Right people - right purpose - right policy”; closely following the locality, listening to people's thoughts, bringing sustainable poverty reduction motivation to Bo Trach people”.
