On November 30, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Children's Cyberspace Protection Club (VCSC), the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Cyberspace Emergency Response Center, the Department of Information Security ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) organized a workshop on "Preventing and combating harmful information and child fraud in the online environment".
In his opening speech, Mr. Dang Vu Son, Vice President of VNISA, former Head of the Government Cipher Committee, said that with the strong development of information technology, children are facing many risks, especially access to harmful and fraudulent information on the internet. This situation requires solutions to prevent and clean up the internet environment so that children can use the internet safely, healthily and effectively.
As a bridge between information security enterprises and state management agencies and the community, VNISA has early participated in policy development and chaired many activities aimed at protecting and supporting children to interact healthily in cyberspace.
"Hopefully this seminar will create an annual forum attracting managers and dedicated experts to exchange, share information, and propose solutions to join hands in creating a safe and healthy online environment for the future generation of digital citizens," Mr. Son shared.
Ms. Dinh Thi Nhu Hoa, Deputy Head of Inspection Department, Vietnam Cyberspace Emergency Response Center shared at the Workshop.
At the workshop, Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh - Vice President of VNISA, President of the Club for Child Protection in Cyberspace said that preventing and combating harmful information and child fraud in the cyber environment has been one of the key contents of the Club since its establishment and operation, with the goal of being able to connect and join hands to build a clean, safe and happy cyberspace for all Vietnamese children...
According to the Organizing Committee, a report by ChildFund Vietnam shows that up to 76% of children tend to seek and accept new friends on social networks. Also according to statistics from the Center for Health and Population Initiatives, nearly 36.5% of children have experienced information and images related to violence on the Internet. More than 13% of children have unwanted exposure to pornographic materials online. Harmful and fraudulent information becomes a potential risk, a difficult-to-detect trap that always lurks for children while the majority of children do not have enough skills to protect themselves when participating in activities on the Internet.
