The German Career Coach Trip is a project within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and Vietnam.
This project was initiated by the German Embassy in close coordination with the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), Goethe Institutes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam).

The project aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration and expand access to international labor markets for young people in Vietnam.
The project implementation aims to continue to affirm the German Government's commitment to promoting a model of close cooperation, linking schools - businesses - the state, focusing on learners. The project also marks the first time in Vietnam that the German Government has brought study, career and living counseling activities in Germany as well as German-standard vocational training and education in Vietnam in a large-scale, mobile form, from North to South, through 16 provinces and cities with 19 stops.

Before arriving in Nghe An, the “German Career Coach” project was launched on April 26, 2025 in Hanoi and will travel through 16 provinces, cities and rural areas across the country and is expected to end its journey in Ho Chi Minh City in November 2025.
By participating in the program, parents and students will have the opportunity to receive direct advice on issues that are often of concern when planning to study, learn a trade or work in Germany such as: Safe and legal labor migration to Germany; Opportunities for vocational study in Germany or technical training according to German standards right in Vietnam; Living and studying conditions in Germany, types of universities, scholarship opportunities; German language learning roadmap, necessary exams and certificates; Dual vocational training programs and career opportunities in Germany for highly skilled workers.

In addition to in-depth consulting activities, the event also brought interesting cultural experiences, helping the Vietnamese public get closer to Germany. During the program, delegates had the opportunity to explore Germany through VR technology, learn about student life at top universities, enjoy typical cuisine and listen to genuine sharing from alumni who have been and are successful in Germany.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs welcomed the German Embassy in Vietnam for choosing Nghe An province as one of the stops on the journey across Vietnam and hoped that the program would bring a lot of useful information to the government and people.

The Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs also said that currently, 1.6 million people in Nghe An are of working age and have great labor potential. In recent years, the province has implemented many synchronous solutions on career guidance, vocational training, labor recruitment, creating new jobs, especially in foreign direct investment enterprises, and the private economic sector is increasingly developing.
However, the current labor market has not yet met all the needs. A segment of young people tend to seek opportunities to study and work, and export labor abroad, including to Germany, in order to find better career opportunities with better income.
In order to expand opportunities for workers, the province has always proactively expanded the international labor market, especially in developed countries. The province also hopes that with a professional and modern working and studying environment, young people after returning to Vietnam will be high-quality resources, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

From the above reality, the event is not only a career orientation day, but also a model for educational cooperation with learners as the center, connecting schools - businesses - the state that Nghe An province is aiming for in reforming vocational education in the province.
Through the program, we will motivate and inspire the province's youth to boldly explore and actively discover new horizons and opportunities in education and employment.
