Students from 19 flood-affected schools return to class after a week-long hiatus

On October 6, students in Ha Giang 1 ward and Ngoc Duong commune officially returned to school after a week off due to the impact of flooding. In Ha Giang 1 ward, 14 schools including 6 kindergartens, 4 primary schools and 4 secondary schools welcomed students back to class. In Ngoc Duong commune, 5 schools including 2 kindergartens, 2 primary schools and 1 secondary school also resumed teaching activities.

Immediately after the flood receded, the school boards coordinated with local authorities, military forces and parents to urgently clean up the schools. The work focused on clearing mud and garbage; cleaning desks, chairs, teaching equipment; disinfecting classrooms and grounds, to ensure hygiene and safety before students return.

During the recent flood, many classrooms in kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools were flooded, books, school supplies, and teaching equipment were damaged. However, with the motto "where the water recedes, there is hygiene", staff, teachers, and parents have made efforts to overcome difficulties to soon stabilize teaching and learning.

In addition to environmental sanitation, schools also checked and repaired damaged facilities and encouraged students to return to school soon. Many organizations and donors supported books and school supplies, helping students stabilize their psychology and continue their studies.
