Changes in this year’s exam have made many students in remote schools in Dak Lak feel worried. Due to the information being spread on online platforms, many students are confused in a “forest” of advice on admission methods, admission criteria, and choosing suitable exam subject combinations.
Phan Y Lan - class 12A, Truong Chinh High School (Ea H'leo district) - said that she wants to have free time, so she is still wondering whether choosing the marketing major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is suitable for her or not.
“This is my first year taking the exam under the new high school program, so I am very hesitant because everything is new and there are few review questions. If I take the exam under the old program, I will be more confident because I have experience from teachers and seniors. Above all, I am also concerned about whether the school's admission methods will change when the exam program changes,” Lan said.
Nguyen Tra Van - class 12A8, Vo Van Kiet High School - shared that she has a passion for the military uniform and wants to take the entrance exam to military schools, but still does not know if the admission method and quota for women are different from 2024.
“If I have the opportunity to ask questions at the upcoming admissions and career counseling program, I will be very happy to have my questions answered. If the quotas or requirements for the military are too high, I will change my focus to studying at the Foreign Trade University, so I really hope for the counseling session,” Van hopes.
Questions prepared
Discussing the high school exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - Principal of Truong Chinh High School - said that this is a challenge for teachers as well as students because the program is new, information is widespread, and is rarely verified.
“The admissions and career counseling program will open up a lot of information for students. Above all, I hope that experts will have accurate and in-depth information to convey to help students have a direction for their future. Because information on the internet is very broad and many things are difficult for students to access correctly,” said Mr. Viet.

“When hearing about the program, many students prepared questions, just waiting for the teachers to come. Although the school has also guided the students in their studies, many students have strong personalities and their own orientation, so when they hear information and advice from teachers at many major universities, their difficulties will be cleared and their guidance will be shown. The program is very necessary and useful,” Mr. Cuom informed.

7 career counseling programs simultaneously in two weekends
Before the program in Ea H'leo district, on Saturday morning (January 11), three programs took place simultaneously in Vinh City, Buon Ma Thuot City and Hue City, opening the 2025 enrollment and career counseling season of Tuoi Tre newspaper.
On Sunday morning (January 12), the next three programs will be held simultaneously in Thanh Hoa City, Da Nang City and Pleiku City.
At each program, in addition to the advisory board of experienced experts from the Department of Higher Education, major universities and colleges across the country, universities organize many consulting booths, ready to provide information and directly answer all questions for parents and students.
