At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong informed about the socio -economic development situation in 2023 and the development orientation of Da Nang city in the coming time. Accordingly, the city's goal by 2030 is to build Da Nang into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia. By 2045, the city will become a large, ecological and smart urban area, a center for startups, innovation and a livable coastal city of Asian stature.
Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong added that Da Nang is one of many cities that have participated in training programs and online seminars organized by CityNet. Through these, the city's relevant departments and agencies have accumulated valuable information, knowledge and lessons learned in the areas that the city is aiming to develop into a smart city.
Thanking the city leaders for their warm welcome, CityNet Secretary General Jeong-Kee Kim affirmed that Da Nang is one of the long-standing members and has made many contributions to Citynet and is a city with many prospects for future development cooperation. CityNet and Da Nang have many common interests in climate change, sustainable urban development, building smart cities, etc.
On this occasion, the CityNet General Secretary sent an invitation to the city leaders to attend the Citynet international forum conference which will take place in June 2024. This is an opportunity for CityNet member localities and partners to share experiences, exchange and propose new and positive solutions to address challenges in the process of investment and sustainable urban development.

Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong thanked the CityNet Secretary General for his invitation to attend the forum and suggested that CityNet continue to support Da Nang in sharing experiences, exchanging and proposing new and positive solutions to address challenges in the process of investment and sustainable urban development; and experiences in implementing policies into practice in the urban sector in Asian cities.
Along with that, support Da Nang in building, calling for investors to be interested in and join the city in implementing the project to build a "Smart City" in the fields of electricity, water, transportation infrastructure, medical facilities, andeducation .
In his role, CityNet Secretary General Jeong-Kee pledged to support Da Nang in connecting with CityNet member cities and units to enhance cooperation and seek investors; and at the same time, connecting cities in the region with other international organizations to solve emerging urban issues.
