These days, the news that Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, a top star of the Vietnamese national volleyball team, is leaving Kuzeyboru Club (Türkiye) early has attracted a lot of attention from fans.
Most recently, on November 9th, Thanh Thúy was not included in the Kuzeyboru club's registration list for the 8th round of the Turkish National Volleyball Championship, even though just a few days earlier she had played in the European Volleyball Cup, even scoring the winning points for the club against Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia).
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is likely to leave Kuzeyboru Club.
Shortly after, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy's Fanclub (FC) shared: "After a period of training and competing with Kuzeyboru Club, due to not achieving good form after injury, Thanh Thuy and the club have decided to terminate the contract. Our girl will return to Vietnam in the near future."
Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper today, Mr. Phan Hung Cuong – Director of Binh Dien Long An Sports Company (the unit managing VTV Binh Dien Long An Club), where athlete Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is managed, said: “Thanh Thuy’s departure from Kuzeyboru Club is not yet official. However, from what I understand, the head coach of this club wants to send Thanh Thuy back, and the relevant parties are still working together before making a final decision.”
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy has not yet regained her top form after her injury.
It is known that Thanh Thúy's contract with Kuzeyboru Club lasts for one season (10 months) and will end in May 2025. Thanh Thúy traveled to Türkiye last September and was registered by Kuzeyboru in the official list of 14 players for the Turkish Women's National Volleyball Championship. In the recent Round 8, the club only registered 13 players, and Thanh Thúy's name was not on the list.
Even if Tran Thi Thanh Thuy returns to Vietnam this time, she will not be able to play for VTV Binh Dien Long An Club in the second phase and the final round of the national volleyball championship currently taking place in Lao Cai because the registration deadline has passed. To fill Thanh Thuy's void, VTV Binh Dien Long An Club had to recruit German-French foreign player Joyce Agbolossou, in addition to the return of veteran hitter Ngoc Hoa.
