On the morning of June 28, Mr. Bui Van Dam (residing in Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province) confirmed that he was the person who live-streamed on Facebook the rescue process of the dolphin that was stabbed in the body by a pitchfork, which went viral on social networks.

Specifically, at noon on June 27, while traveling on the Ganh Hao River in Ca Mau province to exploit aquatic products, Mr. Dam was invited by a man driving a boat carrying cajuput trees to rescue a dolphin that had been stabbed in the body by a sharp iron fork with a bamboo handle about 2 meters long.

Immediately, Mr. Dam controlled the boat to pick up the man on the boat carrying cajuput trees to rescue the injured dolphin. At first, the dolphin moved very fast, but after about 30 minutes, it started to slow down due to exhaustion.

After approaching, Mr. Dam controlled the boat for the man driving the boat to bring the injured dolphin closer to shore and then used tools such as scissors, pliers, etc. to break the barb of the fork to limit damage to the dolphin when removing the sharp iron object.

The dolphin weighed more than 70 kg, after being rescued by people, quickly moved to deep water.
